  • Yes I do. However I believe when we die, our spirt stays Earthbound for an unlimited time. Then we come back and do it all over again. That is just my personal opinion.
  • No. That doesn't mean I believe in the opposite, either (no reincarnation). It's more that I "don't believe in belief". What that means is that I don't see any reason to adopt viewpoints about things for which I have no experience or evidence. We humans love to eliminate uncertainty and doubt from our lives, that makes us feel like we're in control. When there's doubt, it's like a hole in our understanding of reality, so we "fill it up" with beliefs. But really, we'd be better off just leaving the hole there and continuing to observe, experiment, and inquire into the matter. Once we fill up the hole with belief, we haven't really eliminated the doubt, we've just given ourselves something to argue about -- because other people will fill the hole with a different belief. To me, this isn't a very good use of the mind.
  • YES!!! I believe I was living in Scotland in a previous life as a wicth. and I am hoping I will be a nice kitten in my next! ;o)
  • Yes I do! Sometimes I wonder what is my purpose in this lifetime?
  • Yes i do. It seems so much more logical that your spirit goes somewhere (like into another living thing) than just... stops existing or all put in the same place.
  • No but i do believe in recycling.
  • Hindus believe in reincarnation, but being a ex-Hindu myself I still have to experience even one instance where anyone claimed the rebirth. Though there is lot of heresay abt it. I do not think there is any reincarnation. I think once a body dies, the soul is released and meets God in heaven.
  • In a non-religious way yes. I believe that the atoms in my body were once part of stars (that is how heavy elements like carbon are made). I also believe that when I die my body will break down, and the proteins, sugars, fat (hopefully not too much of that!) and individual atoms will move on to other forms. Some may sit in soil, others in bacteria, maybe a few in the bodies of animals, some gases in the atmosphere, and maybe some day a few may make it back to a star from where they came. This for me is a more wonderous and satisfying idea than any afterlife or soul-reincarnation. People often claim how cold and inhert science is, but it's ideas like this that make me content with just having science and the physical world in my life; and makes me sit in awe of the utter beauty of the world- after all, what could be more beautiful than coming from stars, and eventually going back to them?
  • No I do not believe in reincarnation. No I , nor anyone else can offer any proof to support the human concept of reincarnation. I am a Christian and since it has been some 19 hours and no one else has chosen to answer this question, I will share what the Bible says about future life. Although the Bible does not support the reincarnation doctrine, nobody needs to feel disappointed. The Bible’s message offers something far more comforting than the idea of being reborn in a world filled with sickness, sorrow, pain, and death. And not only is what the Bible offers comforting but it is the truth, God’s own Word. Paul expressed the encouraging doctrine in this way: “I have hope toward God . . . that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” The word “resurrection,” or some form of it, occurs over 50 times in the Christian Greek Scriptures, and Paul speaks of it as a primary doctrine of the Christian faith. Sources Acts 24:15; Hebrews 6:1, 2.
  • No I dont beleive in reincarnation and its not something that i beleive that you can proove sorry
  • Yes I believe in reincarnation and the only "proof" I have is anecdotal (from my own life) and would more than likely not stand up to the barrage of questions/insults which will no doubt come from the uber Christians on this site.
  • Yes. I think it makes sense that each life is something we learn from and that we keep coming back to get things right. I have read that reincarnation was mentioned in the Bible, but was removed because the church wanted to control the absolution of sins.
  • No, I do not believe in reincarnation and I do believe if people say they hear it is in the Bible.. they should read it for themselves as I have never found it there.
  • I do not believe in reincarnation. I do not believe there is any proof of it. It is what different people believe. I believe in heaven and hell and that when we die we go to one place or the other. Can I prove that? Only by what the Bible says.
  • No. I believe what the Bible teaches; that it is appointed unto everyone to die once and then face the judgment of God.
  • Yes I do, when I was younger I did this thing called past life regression; USING HYPNOSIS CONDUCTED UNDER 'CLINICAL' CONDITIONS, INDIVIDUALS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ACCESS LONG-BURIED MEMORIES OF PREVIOUS INCARNATIONS. THE CLIENT IS FULLY AWARE AT ALL TIMES BUT IS LED INTO AN AREA OF THEIR MIND THAT THEY DID NOT REALISE EXISTED. THIS TECHNIQUE IS INCREDIBLY HELPFUL FOR DEALING WITH PROBLEMS THAT DO NOT RESPOND TO OTHER COUNSELLING THERAPIES. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY HAVE THEIR ROOTS IN THE LONG FORGOTTEN PAST..... THE LIFE/LIVES TO WHICH YOU RETURN ARE DECIDED BY YOUR HIGHER SELF. IT UNDERSTANDS WHICH REVELATION AND CLARIFICATION IS NEEDED AND YOU WILL ONLY ACCESS PAST SITUATIONS THAT HAVE A RELEVANT BEARING ON YOUR LIFE TODAY. http://skepdic.com/pastlife.html http://www.mypastlife.com/ http://www.pastliferegression.co.uk/ If you want info. Here's some you can go snoop around. I have expierenced Past Life Regressions so I guess that's one reason I do belive in it!
  • I believe that all time exists simultaneously. What I think people sometimes call reincarnation can, from my perspective, function within that belief.
  • Not really. It's a cool idea, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. In my mind, in order for reincarnation to occur, there would have to be a finite number of beings and they each experience an infinite number of lives through the bodies of various organisms. In other words, they change in form but are never destroyed. But then wouldn't it have to be true that at any given moment, there are the same number of organisms alive on the planet, since there are only a limited number of beings which cannot be created or destroyed? Some people believe that reincarnation continues until a being has reached some state of enlightenment or nirvana through good works in his or her many lifetimes. I guess that takes care of the conservation of beings question, but I still don't really buy it, because that would imply the existence of some moral absolutism. That absolutism would have to be entwined in biological, metaphysical processes, and the entire universe as we know it would be held to the same arbitrary standard. I'm a moral relativist. I guess I do believe in reincarnation in a very literal, "earthy" sense. Like the matter which comprises my body will some day become part of the earth and these particles will change and break apart and come back together with other particles. Eventually, every particle of matter will have been everything there is to be. (Dirt, a table, an egg, a cloud, etc.) That's a very scientific viewpoint though; it's just an extension of conservation of mass. If you believe in reincarnation, that's very respectable and okay by me. You probably know more about the theory than I do, and maybe the only reason I don't believe in it is that I don't understand it fully.
  • If we are all one. All individual manifestations of the one, infinite soul, and able to cycle around and around to infinity, it would not make any difference how many people there are/ were/ will be, because the possible manifestations are infinite! It seems no more unbelievable than the idea of eternal life in heaven or eternal damnation in hell, and judgement by an angry neurotic god. Both could be described as fantasies by the skeptic. There are many documented stories of people who remember past lives and details that they could have had no way of knowing otherwise. I'm not interested in getting into a debate about this with those who disagree. Each to his own!! But it does seem ridiculous to see people who believe in the tooth fairy mocking those who believe in Santa.
  • I think it warrants further investigation, but it explains things that a purely religious perspective does not cover. For example, why do bad things happen to good people or children die in infancy? It is said that all the things you can not stand in others were qualities and characteristics you had in another life. It is also said that we choose our lives and our parents prior to birth to resolve issues that have carried over from another time. If this is not true, then it would mean that some by virtue of birth alone are favored by God while others for no apparent reason are born to hardship and suffering.
  • The jury is still out on this one. I'm wary of convenient parameters that give us just enough comfort to keep us from pursuing our own answers.
  • no I do not believe in reincartnation too many new lifes on the planet vs a few thousand years ago. so they are not being recycled they are being added to !
  • NO, that would discerdit my "Creation through evoloution with alien help" theory, that I have researched and compiled.
  • I believe that you can get reincarnated, you go to heaven and if under some circumstances you can begin another life
  • I've believed in reincarnation since around the age of 14 and it was based on nothing more than an internal instinct and the sense it made to me. I was raised Catholic and still consider myself stongly Christian-spiritual, but I've opened my belief system to include what I consider an infinite creative flow that constantly nourishes the universe. As to the finite number of souls/so how is the population growing question, I'd suggest that there are answers out there that none of us have found yet. Maybe we're all just sparks of a greater light, rearranged, broken down and built back up over and over. Maybe, just as atoms and molecules come together and move on to make up other matter, the light inside us ir reararnged over and over again. I'd like to think so. I'd like to think the soul is enlightened by the unlimited experiences of varied life, not by a solitary 30-80 years. And if reincarnation does in fact exist, I'd like to believe that after particularly trying lives we get a rest period, maybe as a pampered house cat. ;)
  • No I dont. I have a lot of faith in God, and in my mind it just doesn't seem like the way he would make things work.
  • i believe in the possibility of reincarnation. but i believe in the possibiliy of a lot of things.
  • Im no Hindu, thats for sure!! But, i think it's a pretty sensible theory. I partly believe in it, yes!
  • Yes, it seems logical to me
  • Life is energy. Energy is never lost, only displaced.
  • I don't know - I think anything is possible so I won't discount it.
  • Whenever I see the person I love [who won't love me back], I so want to believe there's reincarnation. Then maybe in the next life, circumstances will be different and so our destinies.
  • THE PROOF IS In the “new earth,” there will be no more sickness or suffering. Even death will no longer exist but will be replaced by the prospect of eternal life. “[God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) Also, the psalmist foretold: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.” (Psalm 37:29) Similarly, Jesus stated: “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.”—Matthew 5:5. Compare those grand promises of God with the doctrine of reincarnation. According to that idea, it is assumed that you return time after time to live in this same corrupt old system of things. That would mean you would continue to be surrounded by wickedness, suffering, sickness, and dying in an almost endless cycle. What a hopeless outlook that is!
  • I think it may go some way to explaining 'deja-vu' type experiences
  • Yep - I watch my vegetable scraps compost and get put on the soil, which the grass germinates and grows, which birds and other creatures eat...... The circle of life!
  • I dont believe that once we die there's an end to life. Yes the body decomposes but I dont think that our soul can die. People who do yoga or any form of meditation know what I'm talking about. But reincarnation -as in one is reborn in the same world but with a different body - is just a bit nonsensical.
  • God never mentioned reincarnation in the Bible. That doesn't prove that there's reincarnation and that he allows it. That doesn't disprove that either. I like the idea, so I would hope that God would allow reincarnation if one asks him politely.
  • I believe in the rebirth of the soul in another sentient being. It is what I believe, I do not have to prove it - Is there any proof that it doesn't or can't happen? The key word here is BELIEVE.
  • no. i just think we die, when we die. allthough I would love to spend another life as a spoiled lapdog to some little old lady...
  • the concept appeals to me but i don t belong to any religion that actually believes in it.the idea that, You re gonna keep coming back untill you get it right. is very interesting.
  • Our physical everything fades away, which causes time to dissappear. As time dissappears (along with our memories) we become open and free, and it feels really good. I call this place the UFE, the Unidentifiable Form of Energy. It becomes more infinite than life itself, so life could not recall or capture another past life once it has faded into the UFE. Once it looses its boundaries, it is open to anything.
  • I would love to believe in reincarnation. But who gets to choose who or what we would become. I know my ex was reincarnated he came back as a horses ass!!! NO really sometimes when you feel you've been somewhere before or this same thing happened before makes a person wonder. All I know is if its real I wouldn't know what to choose, if I could. Maybe if this world really is hell you would keep coming back as someone to live in hell over and over again. If you went to heaven you would just find peace.
  • Yes, I believe in reincarnation.
  • No, I don't. At least not in the sense that I think you mean. I don't believe that I will ever be anything other than human (in this life or the next).
  • I don't specifically "believe" in reincarnation, but I give it a higher probability than the one life / afterlife concept. There is quite a bit of circumstantial evidence to support reincarnation, but as I said, it's just circumstantial, and far from conclusive. Plus, if we are to assume that souls exist, then reincarnation just seems more logical.
  • Yes. It would explain a lot
  • I would believe in reincarnation if it weren't for the fact of a growing population, where do the new souls come from? New ones have to come from somewhere, unless we can be reincarnated as animals as well
  • I believe in the Christian concept of everlasting life. I do not believe in reincarnation.
  • I have always believed in reincarnation for there is too many things that the soul has to work out and it is impossible to do in one lifetime. That is why we all experience the feeling of knowing someone from the past or have being somewhere though never saw this person before or have ever been to a particular place. We indeed life several hundreds of lives before our attachment to the world is gone.
  • No, I don't. Why should I?
  • No. I believe reincarnation is a reflection or a creation of our strong desire for immortality. We don't want to die, to accept the idea that one day we are going to completely decompose, so, we will come back in another human body! Nice wishful thinking. If I was a roman soldier part of Julius Caesar's Army, or something like that, why do I have no idea of such "previous existence"?

  • Whoever thought of it is very creative ...but no. People never talk about past lives as galley slaves or unnoticed grunts or roaches. Also, given increase in world population, billions of us would have to reincarnate from the same small group of souls.
  • Nope, I believe when we die we die, end off. Although I am not 100% convinced this is true, but I do not believe in reincarnation.
  • Well I am not a cat-lover and I get physically sick at the thought of eating chicken so I reason that some time in the past I was a chicken killed by a cat :o)
  • No. I hope there isn't reincarnation due to the fact that I have screwed up so many times this life I can't imagine how bad I couls screw up another life.
  • Yes I do believe in reincarnation!
  • I believe more in recycling.
  • No, I don't.
  • Yes and I want to be reincarnated as the stool Kendra Wilkinson sits on, after her shower, to put her makeup on.
  • I do, yes. It's the only thing that ever instinctually made sense to me.
  • Reincarnation makes more sense to me than the idea of heaven and hell but I don't believe in it completely.
  • I'm not opposed to the possibility that it's possible! After all Christ raised the dead and will again someday. I think it could be...but I don't worry about it either way...I don't need to worry about it! <wink>
  • Being a Christian, I do not believe in reincarnation.
  • Not sure what I believe. Looking at the Heaven vs Hell aspect, I'd say neither option appeals to me. If there is a god, I would have to ask for the door where everyone else goes. who didn't want to get involved in the pissing match over this sand box called earth. I'd bite at reincarnation a bit more. It's something that can be analyzed right now. I also find myself drawn towards the idea that I'm responsible for myself, and negative emotion probably breeds more negative emotion. so the Karma thing makes sense. I guess Death is the only true unknown. Rather exciting. Also, why do we limit reincarnation to this planet?
  • The idea of rebirth was also entertained by some Ancient Greek philosophers. Many modern Pagans also believe in reincarnation as do some New Age movements, along with followers of Spiritism, practitioners of certain African traditions, and students of esoteric philosophies. • Maybe.
  • I believe in life after death.
  • No, but I don't believe they are impossible either; there is no evidence either way, and seemingly no way to actually test the phenomenon, therefore I choose to take the default stance of the negative.
  • if reincarnation is living after this life, then incarnation would be being born into this life, right? uh, nope, der, i can't say i believe in incarnation.
  • reincarnation... no incarnation... that depends...
  • No I do not believe in that teaching. I do believe that we can live again through the provision that God gives us - the resurrection. • In science, a rule states that matter can neither be created nor destoyed. I believe that the atoms of Moses still exist on this planet. So does Jesus. The bonds that held their atoms together have merely seperated. Someday they may come together randomly again. This is why you can remember parts of past lives. Some of the molecules in your memory belong to someone else.
  • Yeah, i kind of believe in it but im not quite sure about it totally.
  • Yes, I do.
  • I think souls start out young, knowing nothing, learning as they grow older. i think it takes a soul eons to learn it all, I think we all go around more than once..haven't you ever just meant a person and had a perfect connection, or a family member that just seems so much closer to you? That to me is reincarnation.
  • No, but I believe the next life might be similar, though a whole lot better than ending up as some seemingly random animal!
  • I like to think it could be true. I think maybe I lived in the 20's in a past life.. because i've always been attracted to that era for some reason.. people call me an old soul.. and I love antiques! lol idk.. maybe i'm only dreaming this up with my wild imagination. who knows... but it's nice to think about. And what if we are attracted to the people and things we are attracted to in our lives today bc we knew them and somehow interacted with them in a past life> i also think that's a neat idea.
  • sort of, It's more believable than the whole heaven hell, bible thing.
  • There's no proof so I don't "believe" in it, however I would hope that it existed.
  • Yes, to me its very real.
  • I've seen on the history channel and stuff of 4 & 5 year olds saying their name was something else and they died a certain way when researched it was found exactly the ways these kids told it. I had a lot of dreams when I was 5 years old that I was in the backseat and I go off a bridge over and over again, happened almost every night. I remember crying as a kid, 5, 9, when I was going on a class trip and we went over a high bridge. A strong fear feels like my heart is jumping out of my chest and tears come to my eyes. When I got my drivers license, I refused to drive over ANY bridge, I'm getting better with my husbands help, I can't have anyone talking to me and I have to take a deep breath and focus 100%. I don't know if it's how I died or how I will die but with everything I've watched I believe I died when I was 5 in my past life going over a bridge with my parents. It breaks my heart when I hear others have passed that way, I feel an unknown relation.
  • yes, i believe.
  • Sometimes
  • No, here's why: "From the (earth) did We Create you, and into it Shall We return you, And from it shall We Bring you out once again. (The Noble Quran, 20:55)"
  • No. We humans do not want to die, so some of us have created a vehicle designed for eternal life....Reincarnation. We will return to this Planet once we die...isn't that great!
  • Not only is rebirth (or reincarnation) a real phenomenon but a must in a system of checks and balances, otherwise those that have murdered a million in this life will get off scot free after he dies. Sure you might say that he will stay in hell forever but that is impractically cruel and does not offer the possibility of ever being released (delivered) from, for lack of a good modern analogy, the "matrix" and so would not likely to be the system that is self-regulating. Rebirth is a self-regulating, natural process. When those that are on their last breath still harbor deep rooted vengeful thoughts about the killer, murderer, torturer and because of such lingering thoughts and also the roots of desires and aversions of the six senses that came with the lingering notion of the self, that soul or consciousness will be reborn in some future times and if conditions are right, he will meet the killer in the future life again. This time around on first glance at the killer, this person would have an unexplainable rush of anger seemingly stemmed from no where. This is the stored emotional memory from the last breath of the victim before he died in the previous life. Now he has a choice, either to control his anger and let go of it so that the search for vengence will terminate in this life time or if he can't control it, he might end up killing the one who was his killer in the previous lives and the cycle of revenge will continue life after life. Sentient beings provide the actions and thoughts, and karma provides the framework (based on those actions and thoughts) for their future lives. Going from one life time to the next could probably be easier to understand if we think of playing a computer game where you finish one stage of the game and so enters the next stage with new challenges and new world systems but you carry your points from the previous stage with you (ie, the karmic results of the past). In this case going from one life to the next you carry all the good, bad and neutral karma with you as it requires this massive data to reconstruct the reality in your next life. Do you think all the animals that have been raised as livestocks and forced to die for people to eat will die and turn to just a memory? No. Just because they can't fight against you does not mean they are willing to die for your dinner plate. Every pound of flesh forcefully taken from them, the person that ate their flesh will in some future life time have to pay them back with his own flesh when the conditions ripens. Karma does not miscalculate even a single grain of dust let alone the forceful taking of another's flesh. So, this is what the purpose of reincarnation is for and is to do with all the checks and balances of all thoughts and sensation of every living beings in relation to one another at every moment in time. Like the law of conservation of mass-energy in physics E=mC^2, every actions, every thoughts and every sensation is also conserved and recycled to the next life just like water itself. As a poor anology but this all I could think of at this time, is to take a single water molecule for instance. Do you realise that this single water molecule among all the others that you have drank into your body today had already passed through the guts of some dinosaurs, then ended up in some insects........ eventually through countless eons passed through your great great...... .......great grandparents before it finally reached your body. This water molecule will stay in your body and becomes part of what you define yourself to be. After that it will move on and ends up inside the body of some other animals and become a part of what that animal is.
  • No, but i don't think its anymore outrageous then any other religious view.
  • There is anecdotal evidence for it.
  • don't know, i'll tell you when i'm reborn.
  • Knowing my luck I'd come back as a tapeworm.
  • People who believe in re-incarcarnation have a unreasonable fear of death. I think its stupid to be living this life waiting for the next. Better to commit to this life and believe you have one life to live - so live it right this time - there will be no second chances.
  • I am an atheist. That being said, I really do WISH something like reincarnation existed. I think it would make things more interesting. However what I wish was true and what I logically deduce to be true are different things. I have read a few books on reincarnation just because the idea is interesting to me.
  • YES I DO,REINCARNATION IS JUST LIKE KINDERGARDEN-12TH GRADE IN SOME LIVES YOU PROGRESS AND OTHERS YOU MAY HAVE TAKEN A STEP BACKWARD,BUT ALWAYS EVOLVING FORWARD. NOT OUT TO CONVERT ANYONE TO THIS BELIEF,YOU HAVE TO DECIDE FOR YOUR SELF AND DEVELOP YOUR OWN PHILOSOPHY. GOD BLESS ONE AND ALL,LARRY
