Actually the first thing that has always caught my attention first are pretty eyes and a great smile. As far as hair color, I really don't have a set preference. The hair was NEVER what made me look and say WOW !!!! Of course this is just my honest personal opinion.

Well, judging from this thread, it is unacceptable to prefer blondes, so perhaps it should. Honestly, Why is it that people are applauded for saying brunettes are hotter, yet one guy states a preference for blondes and gets pounced on. You are not "deeper" or more intelligent for preferring brunettes. It's just a different preference. In case I gave myself away, yeah, I am blonde. It grows that way. I don't mind if people think bunettes are hotter... to each his own. But I am getting a little weirded out by this notion that it is for some reason immoral to be attracted to any hair colour, blonde included. :|

I've noticed that too...even some of my metro guy friends are dying their hair darker just for kicks. I think it's just a winter thing, darker clothes and darker hair. By summer they'll all be bright and blonde again.

Not at all. Teenage girls just get caught up in trends, everyone's dying their hair dark brown where i come from. Don't think blonde hair's a turn-off. Think about it as a symbolism of orginality among others who choose to follow the crowd.

I think it could just be all the media hype. But I think when it comes to fashion and appearance, do what looks good for you and your body. But always remember to ask yourself, "Will I regret this?" If the answer is yes don't do it.

Yuck, if everyone is going brunette, then the world is coming to an end. Girls look way better blonde and some guys do too, if they are the cali kind of guy but if not then brown for boys and blonde for girls. That's the way i like it :)

There is a correct blond, brunette and redhead for everyone (though the shades me be very different than what you expect/want) However many men/women don't get the color best suited to them because they are either too lazy, too cheap, or too stupid. 'Everyone else has that color so even if I look (I must refrain from saying some very harsh things here) truly hideous it's OK, because everyone else has that color.' That does *not* make it OK. In fact most people look better with their natural color or with highlights/lowlights added to their natural color. You know why? Because it's NATURAL. And why do so many blonds dye their hair red or brown, blond is such a highly desired color that your a moron to dye it anything else just to match what you think someone else wants. Why do so many redheads dye their hair blond? Red is an even more rare hair color than blond and blond is now so common that only natural hues stand out in the crowd, everyone else has that straw/brassy/yellow/platinum that looks so damned fake why would you want to join in on their lack of fun? And to all of you brunettes out there! There are so many different shades of brown that each one is subtle and perfectly suites your face and your natural coloring so unless you plan to complete your new blond look with an orange dipped tan I suggest that you stay as sophisticated as possible and retain your natural born coloring. You are chic and respected more than any other hair color. Blonds are often ignored or talked down to, and redheads are most often treated like they are not good for anything more than sex toys. I have ALWAYS fallen for Brunettes FAR FAR faster than blondes. There have only ever been a very small handful of blonds I've ever found to be even remotely attractive. But brunettes light and dark seem to melt(and often BREAK) my heart.

The mis-consuption is that guys ever actually liked blondes better in the first place. Every guy has different tastes. Some men like blondes, some brunettes, some redheads. It doesn't matter what your haircolor is. Sometimes we men just wish that girls and women would stop trying so hard to impress us. And that is ironic in itself because everyone always associated men with being the ones who are always trying to show-off or impress the opposite sex. Just be yourself, and if that's not good enough for somebody then they probably weren't worth your time in the first place.

Man, I hate the "Do guys/gals like...?" questions. There are more of us and we all have opinions and tastes. I, for instance, don't give a rat's ass what color a girls hair is. There are other qualities, physical, emotional and otherwise I look for.

I think that brown is becoming the new blonde. The same thing has been happening at my school too. Here's my story though. My hair is basically brown and I dyed my hair blonde and then everyone goes to brown. So, I guess that I am the odd duck now.

I think people put too much stock into a certain trend in hair color. I've always thought of hair color as an accessory that you just have to wear all the time (unless you pull a Britney Spears and shave your hair off). The hair color should go well with other features that you have (e.g., eye color, skin tone, etc.). I've known plenty of people who have made themselves look worse after a change in hair color (going from brunette to blonde and blonde to brunette). The opposite, of course, also holds true that some people can enhance their features by changing their hair color. But it's all about choosing the hair color that's right for YOU and not for someone else.

I had brown hair growing up, not too special. I went with blonde highlights after high school and couldnt keep the guys away at that point. Then went back to brown for the last few years, quiet again.... and now Im back blonde and I still got it!! I've definitely noticed that more guys flirt with you when you are blonde or blondish. You get more attention, etc. This first hand experience makes me truly believe that blondes have way more fun!

There was a poll that I took place in a short while ago (can't for the life of me remember which site it was on), it was polling for which was the most popular hair colour for guys to go for... I voted redhead, but it would seem that brunette is the most popular, and I think followed by blonde. I have found however, that whilst looking for a nice girl with orange hair, I was filtering out some otherwise quite nice girls. I've now decided not to worry about the colour of someones hair and instead look to their heart and make sure I can feel comfortable with them. It means that now I'm quite interested in a girl who is blonde, but has actually died it from brunette. I guess previously I could have named myself shallow...saying 'yes' or 'no' based on hair colour.

There are different kinda of guys who like different kinds of girls. there are guys who like brunettes and guys who prefer blondes. blonde is just as popular as brown. whatever color you want your hair to be is a personal decision.

I was told two weeks ago by three of my guy friends that blondes are bubble heads and a guy would rather have a good time with a blonde and take a brunette home to mom. I'm naturally brunette and personally brunette is better.

Sometimes its a seasonal thing. For instance, around here, in the summer girls dye their hair blonde because its more summery and sunshine-y. In winter they dye it dark brown because it seems. more cozy, and warm.

Hair colour is not important once you get to know the person. There is nothing worse than going on a date with a beautiful person, who turns out to be very dull. If you are being shallow and vacuous then blondes attract more attention from boys and they give the impression that they will put out a little easier than brunettes.

I think guys tend to look for more than just hair color. I'm not sure hair color makes much of a difference in the long run.

My natural hair colour is brown and I dye it black... I never had any problem with guys... The usually find me atracttive!But I have had my hair dyed red, pink and purple too... Blondes have have a black eye lately with Brittany, Jessica, and Paris scandals. It seems burnnettes appear more grounded and having more common sense. Just off the media reports-not mine.
