  • Yes - Every country should be allowed to have and enforce their own laws. Besides American friends of your same age, would probably be happier heading over to the UK so they can drink freely ;)
  • How do you think we Americans feel? I would love to be able to drink here.
  • no. we are all subect to the laws of every country we visit. try being military and putting up with some of these backward ass countries.
  • If alchohol is that important to you, drink at home first and then go out.
  • It's perfectly fair. When you go to another country, you must abide by their laws. Besides that, alcohol is not necessary to have a good night out.
  • In protest -I just wouldn't go. By the way if feel you need a drinks{s} to have a good night you may want to look into getting some help.
  • every country has its own laws. deal with it. however, alcohol shouldn't be that important to a good night out.
  • Yes. While it may be annoying to you to not be of age for something in another country, remember, you ARE in another country. That country's laws apply to all, not just some. You should respect the laws of the country you are in. Personally I am against alcohol anyway, so I don't think it should be legal at all. Since it is legal however, you must respect the laws governing the drink.

  • You have to abide by the laws of the country. Life aint fair :0)
  • I don't think it's unfair. Yeah it might blow, but there's different rules in different countries, and you "have to" follow by the rules.
  • Its not fair. We owe this STUPID law thanks to a bunch of christian fanatics, bitchy mothers, and an old hag named Nancy Reagan. The rest of the world save the middle east is 18 years yet the USA with its fundamentalists and retarded MADD, pushed into existance one of the stupidest, USELESS and unfair laws. underage drinking has actually increased since this damn law got enacted.
  • It's a bit like the age of consent laws. If you're having sex on a train you could start off perfectly legal then turn into a child molester then go back to being legal all in one trip, without changing partners.
  • i think it is good that you can't drink till 21 in america. alcoholism is a huge problem and i think more countries should follow americas lead in the alcohol solution
  • American law is messed up, no wonder they have so many school shootings when they're not allowed to get their end away until they're 18, how ridiculous can you get? It amazes me that I can openly boast about shagging a 17 year old in my country, yet I'd be jailed for it in the States, it's very odd, it makes for a very frustrated nation methinks.
  • Don't you think that it would be a little be strange if anyone from some other country could go to any other country and do anything that they want just so long as it doesn't violate the laws in the country that they came from. BTW, it sound like you are well on your way to having major alcohol problems. If you really think that you need alcohol to have a good time you are really off track.
  • dont sound fair to me either
  • Sure it's fair. If you want to drink, stay in the UK.
