  • I was about five years old and was trying to be a good kid back when milkmen delivered milk to houses in the morning. I went outside before anyone else had gotten up and went outside to bring in the gallon in the glass container that had just been delivered. Well, I underestimated the weight of the container and dropped it when I went to open the door. The gallon dropped on the concrete steps, and a corner broke off and spun around and gouged a good sized chunk out of my right foot just below the ankle. I didn't even realize what had happened to my foot, and just went back inside to tell my folks I'd broken the milk container. Both my parents came out of the bedroom and started screaming, and before I knew it, I was being rushed to the emergency room. Ironically, this happened about a year after an accident my sister had which gave her a scar in the same spot on the opposite foot.

  • Far as I know, it's on the base of my thumb, from 43 or so years ago. Was batting a whiffle ball around in the back yard of our new house with the baby-sitter's boyfriend. It was built on a former dump. It went into the hole dug for the foundation of the house next to ours. I jumped in, tossed the ball out, and then climbed out the corner. I went to the bat, swung at the ball, and saw blood spray. Looking at my hand, there was a deep gash in the inside base of my thumb. We went in, and stood at the bathroom sink, rinsing it off. They called my parents. Mom came home, and poured peroxide on it, and continued to rinse. She called Dad and when he came home a short while later, he'd been to the pharmacy. Butterfly closures, and wrapped it up. We did this for 2-3 weeks before it healed up enough for no closures. It's DEFINITELY still there, but kinda looks like a ligament, so it's not that noticeable. (We'd been in that hole before, and climbed in and out of it, rescuing old bottles, etc. I don't know WHY it happened, but I guess I hit a broken bottle.)

  • I have a scar on the underneath part of my chin (can't see it, thankfully) that resembles the white threading on the football (not a sports nut, so no clue what that is called) and is a few inches long. From 1997, my car went smashing into the back of a brand new truck when my brakes failed. My head hit the window and on the way back or on the way to the window my chin was busted on the steering wheel. Its my battle scar lol and and a reminder to have my brakes checked regularly:-p
