  • Actually human cranial capacity varies quite a bit (1000cc to 2000cc)...largely because of encephalization. People vary quite a bit in statue and size. People who are bigger (taller or with a bigger frame) will typically have large heads as well (in order for their proportions to remain even. Just imagine a 7 foot tall guy with the head of only a 5,5" guy? That would look almost comical!). Encephalization means the brain size vs body size and a larger body also requires a large brain for motor control. For example, an African elephants brain is considerably larger than a human's, but relative to it's body size, it's brain size is much smaller compared to a humans just because an elephant is so much bigger than a human.
