  • Yep. When I was an RA, 3 girls, all of whom were bipolar, took themselves off their meds. One got wasted and picked up by the cops. One broke up with her BF and contemplated suicide. One was bouncing off the walls so much she just up and left and drove herself to San Antonio just to see an old friend. On top of that, the same weekend we busted 2 girls for alcohol in their room and another for sneaking a guy in. It was crazy!
  • My mom is a nurse and swears that it does. She say that, on those nights families are more uncooperative, patients are easily agitated, there are more emergencies, and the patients that are usually a little unstable go completely nuts. She says that she can tell that the moon is full without looking outside just by how the night is going.
  • I work on an ambulance and i always seem to have A LOT more work to do when there is a full moon. I don't even try to get a nap it because i know that it won't be worth it.
  • I'd like to add something. I have a theory of how it might work. Its been proven by science that different wavelengths of light affect people. hot colors, such as red, orange, and yellow, make people feel warm, tense, and hyper. Cool colors, such as blue, green, and purple, make people feel cool, calm, and relaxed. Perhaps, as sunlight reflects directly off the moon (i.e. a full moon) the frequensy changes slightly. That specific frequency might cause a negative change in behavior.
  • Yes, I believe it does. Most policemen and doctors will tell you that during a full moon that they see increased amounts of crime, suicides and injuries.
  • In a psychosomatic way, definitely. In a physical or biochemical way... Possibly. Given the fact that the moon's gravity is strong enough to generate oceanic tides, coupled with the fact that the human body and brain are mostly liquid, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the position of the moon had some behaviour-altering effect on human biochemistry.
  • Do think so..and, this is a man thing, get better erections during a full moon.
  • Yes, the moon controls the tide, and our bodies are mostly water so it would have to.
  • If you don't believe it does go ask almost any teacher who has been in the classroom for three or more years. Same with school bus drivers. There is also some of the same effect with a new moon. The worst time is when a full moon occurs on a Friday especially in a school bus! The kids are almost out of control...at least for the elementary kids. I have seen both as a classroom teacher for 18 years and a school bus driver for 8 years.
