Are gun owners just buying guns just for themselves to use for what ever purpose, but also as a investment for when the government either tries to outlaw all private gun ownership / confinscate lawfull guns.

I don't think you can just pigeonhole a whole group of folks. I think that the N.R.A. and the gun lobby has played on the fears of the gun owners about Obama in an effort to surge their sales. Naturally by 2012, when no guns have been confiscated, they'll still be working on the gun owner's fears. So long as they use their guns responsibly, I've no issue with guns. Because Goddess knows, I don't like the Government holding all of the ace cards.

If the Government outlawed legally owned guns (any type) I think the last thing anyone would do is sell them! Gun control laws and bans only control people who obey them. That's why they don't work.
