  • Yes, I believe that moral attitudes motivate action. They help us to refrain from doing what is bad. Noteworthy here are Jesus’ words: “All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must likewise do to them.” (Matthew 7:12) To enjoy God’s favor, we must refrain from doing what is bad. The psalmist said: “O you lovers of Jehovah, hate what is bad. He is guarding the souls of his loyal ones; out of the hand of the wicked ones he delivers them.” (Psalm 97:10) So if we want God’s friendship and help, we must accept his standards. Shunning what is bad includes not wronging anybody in business dealings or in other ways. In word and deed, we must do nothing to harm our companion, but we should be doing good things for him. This can touch every aspect of life. For instance, when driving, we may courteously yield the right-of-way to pedestrians. We can help the elderly, encourage the despondent, comfort the grieving. In this regard, Jehovah sets the prime example. As Jesus said, God “makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous.” (Matthew 5:43-48) Good morals help us to respect the dignity of our neighbor while motivating us to help others. Jesus said: “A good man brings forth good out of the good treasure of his heart.” (Luke 6:45) So, to reach your child’s heart requires that you put into that young heart precious things—things that he or she will respond to emotionally and will cherish. Why? So that “good things” will come out of that heart.—Matt. 12:34, 35. Many Christian parents have had serious discussions with their children in regards to moral issues such as sex . They have had them on numerous occasions when the subject could be approached in a natural, informal way. Some of these opportunities were during long walks, when talking about some incident illustrating the value of proper morals. As one mother of five admitted: “I forced myself to talk about it until finally I was no longer uncomfortable, nor was the child.” Do not let your child suffer untold heartache because of a lack of “good instruction” in this most delicate area.—Prov. 4:2. There is no mistaking it: If we want to be pleasing to our Creator, if we want to do that which is right by our fellowman, if we want to take the course that in the long run is the most rewarding, then we must take morals seriously. “Whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap.”—Gal. 6:7.
  • I agree with perryman. Just in a shorter less preaching terms, moral attiudes motivates action in all ways. Not only does it keep us doing good it also determance the out come when we do "bad" ie if some one is harrasing you and you feel your morals are being challanged then you will stand up in arms to protect them right. Protestor are a good example. And sometimes they end badly. If you just sit and thing about the question I'm sure many things will come to mind just in your own life.
