HOYT AXTON!! The greatest folk singer ever. He also wrote some incredible songs, some he made hits himself, and others were hits for others. He wrote the Three Dog Night classics "Joy to the World" and "Never Been to Spain". His mother was also immensely talented - she wrote the Elvis hit "Heartbreak Hotel." Sadly, this great passed away in 1999 at the age of 61 years young.

I really loved Burl Ives. Then I enjoyed the Limelighters and the Kingston Trio. Peter, Paul and Mary were also good. And, of course, Pete Seeger. But these are dating me.
