  • It's probable that the 'stop leak' has plugged up your heater core. When you replaced the radiator, I'm assuming you flushed your entire cooling system.... it's still possible that that it was still plugged up... or that you flushed the plug down into the heater core.... I'm sorry, but you'll probably have to pull the heater core out and replace it.
  • Instead of pulling the heater core which can be a big job also time consuming. Try flushing the heater core with a water hoes to remove any possible clog. Disconnect both hoses that lead to the heater core and flush. Be careful, your hoses my be old and can crack or split when trying to remove. I dont see why this guy keep recommending replacing the Heater Core without first trying this method.
  • when refilling system you may not have got all the air out. this can create an air lock, not letting coolant flow to heater. when engine is hot feel return hose if it is cold that could be the problem.
  • Stop leak is mechanics best friend, your mechanic gets to replace all the parts that you plugged up!
  • You may not have had enough coolant in the system. ONce you fill the radiator cold and then start the car, if the system was low it sucks the coolant into the engine and you have to add more to refill the radiator. YOu could be as much as a gallon or more low.
  • Your heater core sytem may be what is called vapor locked. To remedy this remove the clamps from the heater core hose and take your garden hose and use it to flush water through the entire coolant sytem. This will fill the lines with water and flush out any air that traped in the system allowing it heat up.
  • Sounds to me like you gummed up the thermostat and it won't open now. If that doesn't open then fluid won't flush through your engine or your heater core. That could be the cause of an overheating engine and cold air from the heater. It's the easiest and cheapest thing to fix and could probably solve your problem. Two bolts, 5 bucks and 10 minutes. Try this first.
  • your heater core needs to be flushed hope this helps
  • did you check the thermostat in the radiator? Maybe stuck or not functioning
  • look in the radiator with the motor running and cap off to see if the water is circulating if not check the thermostat by boiling it in hot water to see if it opens
