  • In a car? "Barrs Leaks" It's only a temporary fix, like fix a flat spray. Better off picking a refurb radiator yourself and get a local shop to install.

      I've used stop leak before. Only advantage to using pepper is if you ever spring another leak you can smell it almost immediately.
  • I don't know about Imodium AD (and wouldn't try it), but pepper does work in a pinch. It's only a temporary fix, and if you use too much .. it will block off your heater core, adding to your problems and expense. Mushroom's choice of "Barrs Leak" is a much better option. I've always kept a couple of tubes of it in my toolbox, in case of an emergency out in the middle of nowhere.

      Yes (many years ago), and I learned the value of "Be Prepared". It served me well for all the years I worked several hundred miles back in the bush, or up on the frozen ice roads of the North.
