  • Jesus told the thief on the cross: “Today you will be with me in paradise." In other words, Jesus showed the thief the way to Heaven to complete other missions. In His return, He is coming back in the clouds were the dead in Christ will rise first, followed by - He will also meet His followers who remain alive on Earth to be caught up with Him in the clouds. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) After His sheepfold is secure, Jesus will come down to Earth to establish God's Kingdom, but this time in His Father's glory. (2 Peter 3:7) As for wandering ghosts that you hear of: they are fallen angels. God is in control, and He does not allow ghosts of people to wander the Earth. Hebrews 9:27 "And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,"
  • He didn't say from where you will join him. I don't know what funky bible you are reading but Jesus never said the thief would dine with his father. Jesus said he would be with him in paradise. Paradise and purgatory are places we go before Heaven and Hell.
  • Jesus said in Luke 23:43 “...you will be with me in Paradise”. Jesus had made many references to heaven during his earthly existence, why did he choose to use the word “Paradise” in this instance? As far as ghosts, the book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 9, explains that the “dead know nothing at at” and “they no longer have any share in what is done under the son” and “there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going.” You have some very thought-provoking questions, the website JW.org offers a free, self-paced Bible course.
