  • I would ask a pro, but usualy a spouse has control before childern (step or blood). If your step mom dies before your father, then the heirs will have control. You may not be able to do anything. this is a serious situation I would ask an estate attorney, fast
  • If your Father was just diagnosed he should be able to handle his finances and you should talk to him about your concerns. The only way she can take control of his/their money solely is if a court decrees your father unable to do it himself and appoints her. Tell your father waht your worried about before his dementia progresses too far and he will not be able to help you.
