The Exorcist! I was a kid, didn't sleep all night the day I watch it. Elm street also had that effect! :(

I don't know if you can really call it horror exactly, but, Jacob's Ladder is a movie that stayed with me for quite a while. It's very unsettling.

I don't know if Eraserhead counts as a horror movie, but it lingered in my mind a long time after, especially when I was alone in bed, it had a nasty habit of coming back. It's all symbolism and doesn't have a horror movie story, so I don't know, but the imagery and sounds creep in the psyche so much, and since I don't really know what's going on in that movie, my imagination does a good job of messing with me, like it did when I first saw Halloween II when I was little. Also the Lost Highway, that one part where the man opens his eyes in bed and that old man's face is right staring back at him, like an inch up close to his. Ha ha lol sweat came pouring out of me when I first saw that part, good thing I didn't have to use the bathroom. Thing is, that image stayed in my head, almost imprinted in there. Ack ha ha. XD

The Exorcist - Soon after it came out. My parents had put a relatively large shower at the end of the (finished) downstair hallway, so the DS had a "full" bath (just around the corner was the original half-bath). My room was DS, too, under my parents' room. Watched that hallway whenever I took a shower after I saw that movie for a few month! ;-) Not sure WHY it affected me THAT way, but...

Just about all of them. Its always when I'm trying to get to sleep that all the scary parts come back to my mind and then I'm to scared to sleep.
-
The Grudge-and even more so the original Japanese version. I see that spooky little thing peeking around corners at the most unexpected times for days and worse, nights.

You really should try 'THE OTHERS' starring Nicole Kidman. U don't feel so scary during the movie because it tricks your mind, when u see the ending, then u realize the truth and it just chill u away.

The first Alien movie.. I hadn't been out in 4 months, since birth of baby in '79. I had nightmares all night, the alien coming out of John Hurt was so disturbing to me then. Doesn't bother me now, go figure.
