Fishermen: Have you ever caught a fish using one of the 10 billion different colored and sized and shaped jelly baits that stores offer? Or are they so much cool-looking junk?

They work when used with some kind of scent oil added to them, I hear, but I've never caught anything with just a jelly worm on a hook.

I was using a silver with glitter rubber minnow when I caught a 18 inch large mouth bass. Normally I am a live bait kind of fisherperson but after that I am a little more willing to use artificial bait. I know people who swear by the scented rubber worms.

I have caught a few on those jelly baits, I have better luck when I add some live bait in conjunction with the little jigs.
