I'm gonna have to go with Obama. Not to knock McCain, I don't think he'd be a bad president? But Obama's what the country and the world needs right now. I've read one of his books (before he even ran for president actually), and can say that he is one of the most thoughtful and understanding politicians I've ever read. He may be full of words, but words can change the world.
-
McCain. Obama scares me to death. To begin with I don't want a president whose name rhymes with osoma. And since we are in a war I think we will be better served by a president who is an ex soldier.
-
John McCain. He has so much more experience and does not propose programs that take away or limit our inviolable rights as defined by our constitution or programs that take away our freedom of choice, hamper healthy competition among businesses. I was moved by his response to the torture issue of waterboarding. His difficulty with it showed. I think if Americans read the candidates platforms without knowing which platform belonged to each candidate they would choose McCain's platform. Millions of people will vote for Obama because he is not a white man. To me that is just sad and racist as the old days. I do think most people of color will vote for McCain because some of the proposals Obama has are actually harmful towards black Americans. Such as removing guns from inner city neighborhoods (mostly black Americans populate the inner city). Why are they any less entitled to protecting themselves than anyone else? He also wants to have us send our children to school at an even younger age than we do already. That will cost a heck of a lot of money and most kids aren't ready to sit in structured class untill 5 or 6 years of age. He wants them at 3 and 4. Obama also plans to spend Federal funds on stem cell research. I'm not opposed to it, but I don't see why we have to pay for it when plenty of private companies can and are doing it without our tax dollars. They will make billions of dollars and never pay a dime back to the public.

I'm still undecided, but definetly Obama and McCain. Clinton I was for in the beginning, but seems to be attacking too much for me.
-
wiggum is the man, shoot at the bad guys & then doughnuts for everyone
-
NONE of the above, thanks.
-
wiggum
-
Nader is the last name of Ralph... ------- ADDED ------ After the rejection of the original question as a duplicate, my old answer dos not make sense. I think both of those candidates could theoretically be president, but personally I would prefer Obama.
-
Ralph Wiggum. Some of the things he says are hilarious.
-
I vote Ralph. He won't pick a VP, he'll pick his nose!
-
Obama obviously. McCain represents MORE OF THE SAME. More of George W. Bush's failed policies. It's astounding to me that anyone would even consider voting for McCain. Bush has been the worst president of all time and McCain has essentially the same positions as he does on key issues like foreign policy, health care, and the economy. Barack Obama for President!
-
McCain by default. Obama or Clinton would be disaster for the U.S., neither of them understand the princple that the government needs to stay out of our lives. The same government that bankrupted Social Security is to take over our health care system? Give me a break. Cut Taxes. Secure The Border, get the fuck out of my life government!
-
Obama, mccain will just continue destroying out nation, I will not support someone who wishes to support john hagee either.
-
I'm going for Republican.. I think that the affairs of state should be left on a state level (Governors, etc.) and I don't think Obama knows what he's doing up there as far as being a President. But who knows huh? I'm a felon, I can't vote anyways, but if I could... I'd vote for... *sings* M - I - C *sings* K - E - Y *sings* M - O - U - S - E!!!! just like I always have :P (or vote for myself - because I think I can govern myself better than anyone else can)
-
Ralph Nader, Ralph Nader, no more violence in Palestine or Israel. Ralph Nader, Ralph Nader, no more US-funded military coups in South America. Ralph Nader, Ralph Nader, no more lies and warmongering with Iran. Ralph Nader, Ralph Nader, he's the choice for me. Sorry, but being a non-American I'm restricted to looking at things that actually matter.
-
Yeah I'll take Obama thank you very much. McCain is frightening.
-
I agree more with the Democratic platform. I'm not in love with Hillary but I think Obama is too inexperienced and too soft for the job. Just as Jimmy Carter is a great and kind person, he was totally unsuccessful as president. Hillary is tough, I'll agree, and this country doesn't like tough women, but if she were any softer, then she wouldn't be strong enough to lead. No win situation.
-
They both look good in suits.
-
You're correct that McCain will probably corner the Republican nomination, but Obama and Clinton are still neck-in-neck in competition for the Democratic party nomination, so it's too soon to say. The most likely scenario is that by June 2008 we will know which candidate will be for President and which one will be for Vice President, since a Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton ticket is getting more and more inevitable. You wouldn't know this from observing the acrimony between supporters of the two candidates, but history supports the idea that Hillary and Barrack are true politicians and will remain true to their nature. What's a true politician? Well, a true politician is NOT a true believer, like many of the followers of each candidate -- a true politician is in the end a pragmatist, who makes informed compromises in order to finally succeed. This leads us to conclude that Clinton and Obama will eventually stop competing and join forces to destroy the threat of another horrible Republican presidency, something America and the world cannot afford . . .

Like someone said earlier, Obama is what is needed at the moment. That is what matters. In different times, McCain might be the more appropriate candidate. Unfortunately for him, those times are not the present. Greantess is the orphan of calamity in times of necessity. Obama is the proper component in order to benefit the nation. Our global standing is abyssmal, and in case no one knows what that means, let me just clarify it for you: That's VERY bad. Our poor global image married with our current economic state that will ultimately leave us more in debt to China (and potentially causing another Cold War with them in about 20 years), will not result in good times. Electing Obama, an obvious contrast in policy to Bush, will at least allow other countries to raise their eyebrows and feel that perhaps we are heading in a different direction. This is politically essential to our national strategy, interests and security. He will also lead the path to a SENSIBLE approach to Universal Health care, as opposed to simply mandating it like car insurance with uncertain methods for enforcement. Moral reasons aside, the war is syphoning too many funds out of the public coffers (3 trillion so far according to recent estimates), and must come to a conclusion expeditiously. McCain will not do this. Obama is the best bet you got right now.
-
Neither. Clinton isn't out of the race yet. I personally don't care about their lies and deceit to get into office but it's starting to become obvious that Clinton has like Bush bought her way back into the White House. Of course you know that every one of them is going to demand a recount if the ballots say they lose. Presidential along with any other election just drives this country further into debt with a liar promising to repay but end up out of office before anything is done. This political cartoon is a disgrace to every US citizen.
-
after listening to Obamas Priest, i dont know if i want him around. he went to a church taht priest that kind of stuff, so he might be a Black sheep in a White fox's clotheing
-
Neither
-
John McCain for sure.
-
I don't feel I can vote FOR any of them. So I must vote for McCain to vote against the rest. The lesser of the evils in my book.
-
Mr Obama is the best by a country mile ...if Mr McCain gets in ...GWB just might as well have stayed in office ...they are one in the same
-
Ok, from everything I have heard, which is admittedly not much, does not McCain plan on continuing the war with Iraq? If this is so I firmly stand with anyone BUT McCain... just on that one point. We cannot afford more of this war! I am going to have to get into these things in order to vote properly. I just plain hate politics because I have difficulty following the intricacies.
-
McCain, he has more experience, and is a moderate.
-
McCain
-
I don't think Obama has enought experience nor base in Washington to get things accomplished. He's inspirational, I agree;however, he has to hit the ground running and I don't think he'll have the team in place to do it! I just worry he'll wind up being ineffective like Jimmy Carter. Great man, but didn't have the Washington experience.
-
I say Obama
-
I want Obama, since I'd rather he be the boss of me than McCain. I mean, I have trouble with authority as it is....
-
Not sure,BUT..I bet your going to get down rated(NOT from me)for saying that about Hillary, evan if it is true..and me along with you for writing this! (in fact Ill leave you positive)
-
Between those two, definitely Obama.
-
McCain
-
if I was allowed to vote ...I would say Obama.... McCain is a clone of GWB in every way
-
Neither.. we're all doomed. Americans are letting their media control things too much... I don't see a huge difference between any of them. Obama says "change" but I fail to see any. Especially after him saying he'd increase troops over seas in an effort to stem civilian casualties. He also said he'd invade pakistan, with or without their approval. Pakistan is an Allie.... And then theres McCain who's trying to convince us that Iran has something to do with al qaeda and obviously has no clue what's really going on. They all are war-mongers... furthermore neither of them know much about the economy either, and they're both big spenders and for a bigger government. The 2 most important issues of this election are The War and The Economy, and we can't afford this war right now. period. simple as that. so America is doomed.
-
Definitely Obama, however I do not agree that Clinton doesn't have a chance, it's the Republican party that doesn't have a chance -- It's only my personal opinion. In fact the latest polls have Clinton vs. McCain and Obama vs. McCain as virtually neck-in-neck races meaning any race held today would almost be a near tie between McCain and either Democratic candidate. You obviously have bought into the mainstream media bias FOR Obama and AGAINST Clinton, but this bias is not reflected in the voting patterns of the most populated and largest states in America, all of which Hillary has won of will win (she's currently projected to PA by 26 points above Obama. No matter what Obama or Pelosi might say a Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton ticket is becoming increasingly inevitable by the day, to re-unite the Democratic Party and to ensure a win against McCain, frequently known as 'McSame' or even 'Bush Light'. Horse races sell newspapers for it's in the media's interest to drag out a long race, but ultimately a united Democratic ticket will prevail. The voter and the folks with money and power want Bush OUT and a better government in -- and McCain is nothing but a dreary extension of more Bush failures.
-
I find it hard to answer this question as I am convinced that Clinton will be the nomineee. She will do anything for this nomination, legal or not, and I am not sure she would stop at murder to do it. I think the question should be Clinton of McCain.
-
Obama is my "best all around" candidate. If per chance Hillary is on the ticket with McCain (I still think it's a possibility), I will vote for McCain. I like BOTH Obama and McCain... They also could be considered "crossover" candidates, as each has received some level of support from the other's party. (Clinton has not.) I DO believe we are due for a democratic president, so I think on inaugeration day it will be either Obama or Clinton... I just hope it's not the latter.
-
mcain obama is muslim the country is screwed it does'nt matter now !haha ho ho he he the're comming to take me away to the funny farm where the trees are green an the birds are free the're comming to take me away !!!
-
McCain. Obama will be the worst president this country has ever had. He will give our enemies everything they want and make it a crime to pursue the American dream.
-
McCain. I want to be taxed out of my bank account, to fund a war that seemingly has no end. Just kidding! I pick the one who seems like he would care about his people.
-
Are you serious! Oh corse the old white guy will win. We would never get anyone as forward thinking and cool as Barack. They government will never let a black man rule. They should just be called the KKK. WE WANT OBAMA!!!
-
Obama, however I wouldn't be too disappointed if McCain goes thru
-
McCain all the way!!!!! Though he's not my first or even second choice, but if it's down to him and Obama, then HIM!!!!
-
John Shaft...
-
Barack Obama. We've had enough of the Republicans haven't we? If America is stupid enough to vote for another Republican after 8 years of Bush then there may be no hope left for this country. But it's more than that McCain is an awful candidate who will continue down the same failed path as the Bush administration, it's also that Barack Obama is a great candidate. He is a president that our country can be proud of. He will bring respect to America from around the world. He will speak to us honestly (big change there) and intelligently (even bigger change). He will speak to us like adults. He will help us correct our economic problems (which are huge.) He will help to improve our horrendous health care program. He will end the stupid war in Iraq (which he knew was stupid from day 1 unlike his less wise opponents.) He will approach problems looking for the right answer rather than trying to stuff his answer into the problem (which is what the Bush admin does.)
-
Neither. If you base it on real experience and having the network in place to get things done (even if you do not agree with what the things are) McCain is better suited than Barry. Although I would not vote for either.
-
Obama because Hillary has no business staying in the race y McCain es el mismo.
-
mCcain is the only QUALIFIED candidate. Obama has NO experience has has been put in contention by criminals from chicago's south side. His wife, until recently hated America. I think Obama is a Muslim as his "Christian church" is a fringe church that believes little of the buble. where does it say Jesus was a "POOR BLACK MAN living in a society controlled by rich white men". He is a worthless candidate in my estimation of candidates Mccain is the only viable candidate in the mainstream of American Politics. Maybe we should all write in our choices. Is Ross Perot still alive?
-
While I believe Barack Obama has many great ideas on helping to bring the economy back tho where it should be I am very concerned with his ability to protect us from those who want to harm us. What good is economic stability if I have to worry every time I get on a bus or subway that some asshole who hates America and all that we stand for is gonna try to make himself/herself a martyr and take me along with him or her. There is no doubt in my mind that John McCain is the best and most qualified candidate to ensure our national security.
-
I say McCain, an old white guy (stick to tradition) who knows his damn politics.
-
"I don't bother with church because I really don't like the crap that they're spreading." This is a perceptive comment. Church is a voluntary organization. We may attend or not attend. Obama has chosen to attend this church for 20+ years and has given at least $40,000 to this church. The idea that Obama did not hear what was being taught there is laughable. You can go to the church's website or do a little research on this church, and figure out in about 10 minutes what they are all about. Either Obama is not very intelligent, and therefore did not know what was going on (which I doubt, he is intelligent) or he is just flat out lying about what he knows about this church. Rei said he would not go to a church because he does not like the crap that they are spreading. Most people are not going to go to a church where they disagree with what is being taught. If a church teaches things which disagree with your fundamental values, you are not going to stay in this church. Rei would not go to any church. It is reasonable to conclude, that Obama went to this church, knew what was being taught, and that it did not really offend his core of ideals. Don't be shocked that Obama is lying about what he knew. He has also clearly said that he has not changed any of his positions since the general election has begun.
-
He wouldn't. He would only offer more of the same issues that we've been enduring for the past 8 years. P.s.: You misspelled McCain.
-
He's another George Bush with a different name. Given this is the case, it is impossible for him to make any better a president than Obama.
-
I think McCain. Obama seems a bit too socialist for my tastes.
-
He won't.
-
Let us define your word "better" and then go from there.
-
he wouldn't
-
As the lesser of the two evils, he at least is more to the right than to Obama's extreme left. In actuality though, we need a true American conservative in the white house, not some lefty globalist.
-
Barack Obama.
-
equally not suited
-
THAT one! -
-
john mccain but i dont think even he is suitable
-
I think Obama is.....isnt there a strong chance that McCain won't make it through his term as president if he wins? I kinda don't want Palin as a president.....
-
Obama .. Obama .. Obama !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
"08...Obama...08...Obama". He has a presidential quiet confidence that I believe will allow him to lead this country, (eventually,) to better times.
-
Neither!!!
-
Barack Obama... He is intelligent, self-made(didn't have his father to help him become the president), will implement the correct policies to fix the economy(although it will take a while) and last but not least Warren Buffet is voting for him!(the wizard of Omaha)
-
Barack Obama!
-
i think they Both wear very nice suits peace.
-
I dont think either one of these jokers is suited to run MY country. It seems the last few presidents have forgotten that this is OUR country not their freaking play toy. With the exception of very few politians Washington has been running the U.S. into the ground for decades!
