Sure. I can quote you a plethora of proverbs, such as 'behind every cloud is a silver lining', 'when one door closes, another one opens', 'tomorrow is another day', etc. The plain truth is that 'every day above ground is a good day'. Try your best not to focus on the bad. Focus on the positive and the good. Everyone faces hardships, bad times, low self esteem, bad decisions, regret, sorrow, lost love, and physical and mental anguish. Know that you are strong enough to get through all that. Understand that everything that is thrown at you is necessary to allow you to grow. There are NO mistakes, only learning experiences. That is one that I honestly believe. Life is not always easy, but a person whose soul progresses does so through experience, both painful and joyous. If you are 'blue', try to be introspective. Use that time to think about things you have perhaps avoided. Bring out the shame or the pain and lay it bare. Examine it and try your best to make peace with it and put it behind you. If you are sad because you have hurt someone, then try to find a way to make amends, no matter how difficult. Apologize if you should. Do it with sincerity and don't worry if it is not accepted. The fact that you have done the 'right' thing will soothe your soul. The onus is no longer on you, but on the other party. Try your best to be comfortable in your own skin. Respect the person that you are and everything else will fall into place. Be happy to be alone, if you are. Use that time to find yourself, grow, pamper yourself and learn to love yourself. You are a good person. Live it. :)

It's hard! I'm late for work and have decided I'm not going! I may lose my job, I may lose my apartment! Whatever! the birds still sing. What would you like to hear to cheer you? If you were English, I would just say, "Cheers!"

Sure. Or scare you :) I checked the oil in my car before going out the other day and realized it could use topping off. I was wearing a nice shirt and didn't want to risk spilling oil on it, so I chucked it off in the laundry room which doubles as the mud room from the garage entrance. I was fumbling with the funnel/oil and all of the sudden the garage door went up and all the landscaping guys got to see my Car and Driver moment--must have looked awfully strange to them. I went running for the laundry room, but methinks they got a pretty good look. I could have died. Next time I'll just throw an old t-shirt on (duh).

I don't know what your age is, so if you are one of the younger ABer's these songs may be too old school, but they always get dancing. Also, think about what you do want, not about what you don't want- law of attraction. Dea, teaching is often a thankless job and I felt that way too, a lot, when I was teaching. There are kids in that maddening pack you are working with now who will remember you to their grandchildren, who love and respect you. You are making a difference, you just can't see it now. I haven't taught for six years, but I still run into my old students and most of them want me to know that I helped them, influenced them and had some bearing on where they are now. Some actually want to apologize too. Winter in England is tough. I've been there twice when the days are so short and dark. The sun will shine again. And you have those lovely long summer days, so close to the land of the midnight sun. Its just tough this time of year being so close to the land of the noontime dark.

I hope that someone many come into your life and show you that there are those that are willing to show you love, remain loyal and stand by you. I hope that you to meet someone that will steadfastly encourage you. Here's some calming music: If the first new age video doesn't help maybe this second penquin video will. I just remembered something from Redd Foxx. His mother says, "I'm feeling down in the dumps. Think I'll go get me a new purse. Everytime I'm down in the dumps I get me a new purse!" Redd says, "I was wondering where you wuz gettin' those things."
