  • i must agree... there are only a few new songs that i can say i like. i think it's just a new age of music, all tech. no meaning in the words. but that's one girls opinion :)
  • I think that the industry has become more dollar driven than quality driven. And the emphasis is on dance music rather than singing.
  • I hate to say this, but when I go to a music store, I always ignore the contemporary American artists and head straight to European, British, and Asian pop music, even if they're a bit dated. However, there is a lot of original talent coming out of Asia now, for example. They are just so much better, musically. I like The Beatles, a lot of the British new wave, Sweden's ABBA, Germany's Falco, and of course Pink Lady from Japan---
  • I have noticed that and I don't really know why it is.
  • We live in an age where the emphasis is on what sells, not content. As w/the TV issue, violence, drugs and sexual content sell! It seems the more angst portrayed in the music the more it sells. Songs have basically been written about the times we live in, take a look around; it isn't like it used to be in the 60's,70's or 80's. There is so much more strife and hatred, I guess it is just easier to write a song where people just bounce off the walls to the beat than to find something worth singing about!
