I thank the asteroid belt for not sending us a missive that would penetrate our atmosphere and impact Earth. I thank the hurricanes that don't strike California and the snow storms that don't hit Los Angeles. I thank the Sun for not increasing our cosmic doses of radiation beyond tolerable levels and I thank the fishes still remaining in the seas for not deciding to grow legs and invade us landed people. But I don't thank Jeebus, or even Jesus. I do thank the Universe for another perfect day, just like the last one and just like the next one will be.
