  • A quick answer that will help in some cases but not all (it really depends upon the application and the operating system):- 1) Check the floppy disk is not write-protected (you should not see a hole in the place where there is a little sliding thing - very technical - lol). 2) Or it may have been saved as read-only. One possible simple way around both of these (but it does depend on the software) is to open the file from the floppy and then save the file to another place (not the floppy). If the read-only attribute was set - this will unset it in most operating systems. If the floppy is set to read-only - solves that too as in order to save it you must be writing to a read-write media (hard disk probably). You should then be able to make changes. Hope that helped
