Yes, they are. Not only are there Roman Catholics in good standing in the military, but there are also R.C. clergy serving in the Chaplancy as well.

Are catholics allowed to vote?

I have two words for you: The Crusades.

Yes. A Catholic being drafted into the military or volunteering assumes that the government will not force him or her to fight in an unjust war. The “just war” doctrine requires rigorous consideration to determine if defense by military force is legitimate. Offensive war is never justified. All the following considerations must be true to justify war: 1. The damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain; 2. All other means of putting an end to it must have been shown to be impractical or ineffective; 3. There must be serious prospects of success; 4. The use of arms must not produce evils and disorders graver than the evil to be eliminated. For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 2309: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt2art5.htm With love in Christ.

Yes, contrary to everything Jesus spoke about and the entire New Testament of the Bible, Catholics, much like just about every other 'Christian' church allows military service. They don't have any problem with their members going off to kill other people. They don't have any problem with their members 'pledging service' to a master other than God - what you do when you are in the military, since you MUST obey your CO's orders. In WWI and II there were Bishops blessing both sides as they went off to kill each other. Is that Christian? Of course not. When they came to get Jesus, to put him to death, based on false charges - the apostles began a fight to defend him. He stopped them and said 'those who live by the sword will surely die by it'. If that wasn't a worthy cause, what is? Only one worldwide Christian group has stayed out of the wars and politics of man - trusting only in God. It's the only Christian group persecuted in the Nazi concentration camps and imprisoned for not serving the US Army. They are Jehovah's Witnesses.

Yes, as I am in the military and a Roman Catholic, I can safely say, yes. Catholics are allowed in the military. To be in the military does not mean to kill. It means to protect, just for all those of you who have answered this question with "kill" in response to the military. I have been in the military 4 years and have been to plenty of war zones, not once have I even fired my weapon at the enemy, nor have I been shot at. There are also Roman Catholic priests in the military, now, if a priest can be in the military, why can't a religion follower? It is personal discretion

Absolutely, There is no descrimination based on sex, age, religion or ethnic background. Heck, you don't even have to be a U.S. Citizen to join.
-
Yes. In fact the pope who heads the catholic church even has his own army called the Swiss guard. many countries militaries have their own bishops that minister just to the military.

Of course! Military service and the Catholic faith are certainly compatible. Military saints throughout history (St. Joan of Arc, among others) testify to that fact, as does Vatican II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, #2310 which states: "Those who are sworn to serve in the armed forces are servants of the security and freedom of nations. If they carry out their duty honorably, they truly contribute to the common good and the maintenance of peace." I think the root of the question has more to do with how Catholics reconcile the commandment "thou shall not kill" with military service and that answer has do with the distinction between murder- which the commandment prohibits- and self defense (personal or national), which is exhorted. Failure to defend oneself, one's family, one's nation would be considered a far more grave omission.
