  • Sure, why not? Who better to teach the principles and values of such a living document than someone who grew up without it and labored to become a US citizen protected by it? You know in your heart of hearts someone like that sure won't take it for granted or try to water it down.
  • Yes, as long as they are good, qualified people to do so.
  • Yes,why not as long as they do not attempt to re-write it.
  • Let me be sure I understand you. Teachers should be born with some connection to the subject they are teaching? Is that your criteria? I would prefer, speaking for myself, of course, to have a teacher who was knowledgeable and competent...regardless of where born or even how raised. But then I'm only speaking as a student.

  • ..i was born in the soviet union..communism was all around me..why not? what about people born in communist cuba?
  • Allowed? Are you joking? Judgebill and Knotcrafter have some fine answers and I agree with them. There are plenty of citizens, born and educated in the United States, who would be hard pressed to name the three branches of government, who couldn't describe how laws are written and who take this country for granted or worse while people who long to become citizens could. Could you pass a citizenship test? Here is a link: http://usgovinfo.about.com/blinstst.htm
  • if they hold a degree and are qualified, yes this is the land of opportunity do you really think that a teacher has no one to answer to the have to follow the mandated curriculum, if they were brainwashing students and teaching the communist ideals and not the constitution someone would find out and stop it
