Bite the bullet and apologise. Sincerely.
-
Apologise.
-
by saying, "i'm so sorry, i shouldn't have said that,"

I apologize. What else can you do when you always say what you think? The people who are my friends know that about me..those who aren't might get offended. I don't try to hurt anyone but I also don't say stuff that isn't true..at least for me. But sometimes one unintentionally hits a nerve..we don't know about all the baggage in someone's life and an inadvertent remark might cause pain. That requires an apology I think and I have apologized for such things in the past! :)

Depends on what was said,If im in the right I dont back down,But if im proven wrong i humbly apologise

You smile, say "Oh, you're NOT pregnant?" then kill yourself.
-
Deny I said it.
-
Personally, I've found that standing up and claiming responsibility for my own actions and saying "I f*cked up" goes a long way.
-
When I get in trouble, I don't wriggle out, I go out straight - by apologizing - no matter whether I find myself guilty of anything or not.

Own up by smiles usually works, we human after all.

The last time I got into really big trouble they sent me to China for six weeks then transferred me to the the division closet to my home with a warning to the manager "you have a tiger by the tail". All in all it worked out well even though it took them four years to implement my recommendations.

Alot of the time I'm not even aware i'm IN trouble until finally, enough has been beaten around the bush for me to notice something amiss. Then I have to backtrack and desirer what the trouble is and if it was indeed caused by me. IF and when that happens, it's usually too late to do anything about it, or it's been long forgotten. Or I wing it to prevent looking stupid for something I should know I did wrong in the first place to get me in trouble. And this, is why I'm not in a rush to go anywhere.

I don't wiggle. I simply admit that I made a mistake and I apologize. Apologizing and admitting to an error is FREE, it does not hurt. Generally, it just makes one stronger.

Unless it is someone within my love circle, I don't really care and I can't think of any trouble I've been in. I wouldn't even apologize if it cost me my job and the boss was trying to frame me, which happened. I'm just too old, I guess. +4
