The mouse to my computer freezes up on my screen a lot. It does this about every ten seconds. It can stay frozen from 1/2 a second to 20 seconds, I even have to restart my computer sometimes. Sometimes...(continued in question)

...it shoots across the screen and clicks random things. It's an hp laser mouse, and it ISN'T cordless. Why does it do this, and is there any way I can fix it?

hmmm, all i can think of is maybe its time to get a new mouse. do you use a mousepad? maybe you should try getting a new one of those.

i bought a refurb mac and it did this exact thing just lagging around the screen. even when there was no programs running, because at first i thought it was just low on RAM, it turns out that its "logic board" hadnt been connected properly (its quite a big deal apparantly) so there was nothing i could do about it and i sent it back. i guess it might not be this, it could be your ram? the only way to tell is if it does it when you type too. as then it not your mouse, but definately your computer? :D
