    Yes. Without the US, things could have gone bad for the rest of the world. Worse than they actually did.

    Absolutely. First, it was necessary for the USA to learn to fight in a war. We hadn't had such experience since the Civil War. Next, we made our presence known in Europe, and established ourselves as a major player in the world. Also, WWI laid the base for WWII, and our experience in WWI was helpful, (to a limited extent) in WWII. It was also a "maturing" act for our country. I'm looking at this as a geo-politik question, not one of m orality. As far as I'm concerned, there is no justification for war.

    I would say not.To enter war for the wrong reason can,and has become a bad habit.
