One thing that might concern me is that would be criminals who wanted to steal pistols could figure out from the lists and a handy phone book which homes they might want to hit. On the other hand, perhaps it might deter some for fear of getting shot. I can't think of any other reason to be upset - if it's legal no one should be judging you for it. Why do you ask?

When you put your name on a public record, you have no right to be mad when it is made public. For this very reason, no firearm I currently, or have ever owned is "registered". Edit: Go ahead, rate me down, I don't care. I am extremely proud of this answer and will stand by it.

It's all public record I believe, although I would be annoyed I guess. Looking at it another way, it might help keep people away from your house who shouldn't be there!

Since it's been proven over and over again that firearms in the hands of citizens prevents crime, the only possible motive for the leftists who push gun-control laws is to do here what they did in Russia, Germany and China--disarm the citizens so they can take away their freedom. This is the motive of the leftists on top. It's too bad most of the average people who support them don't see this.

Yes, because it would make my residence a prime target for those conducting criminal activity. Exposing my arsenal to the general public does not benefit it in anyway, the only people it would benefit are those that would target my home to steal my weapons. It may be construed as an invasion or privacy and a violation of my rights. If my house were burglarized and my firearms are reported stolen to the police I would sue the offending publication that exposed my possession to the thieves as they are the ones that provided the knowledge and location of my firearms. Registration of firearms should be a police issue, and such information should not be distributed to the general public without requesting permission from the gun owner first. Not doing so puts the gun owner, his family, and property at risk.

I would be proud that my name was written in a newspaper. I wouldn't mind, the only people that would remember my name was written in the newspaper would be the people that know me and they would know I'm responsible and wouldn't use the gun to hurt anyone.
-
I would have concerns but this is something that you should know are a gun owner. If it bothers you so then do not do it.
-
Nope.
-
No way,..go ahead advertise the fact that I have a gun and a license to carry it.
-
It depends if they said anything else in the newspaper...like these gun owners are crazy vigilante red necks threatening the peace or something like that. If they just listed your name, which I don't know why they would, I guess I wouldn't sweat it too much.
-
I would be mad as hell, fancy notifying crims that you have firearms in your house,it makes you a prime target, as well as those who don't have guns,eg House 51 has Firearms your neighbor at 53 doesn't and gets robbed, has the paper thought of that. The best thing to do is get a well trained dog.
