how to love and how much THEY are loved. how to be courteous and respect everyone and everything. the bible and its lessons to help them in their spiritual growth. family values and the hardships and sacrifices that the family went through in order to give them a better life. how to pick their battles. how to spend money wisely. oh and.. proper hygiene :)
-
It would be great if more parents would teach their children the importance of manners and courteousness, to be respectful of others, or at the very least, basic social skills.
-
Increasing levels of responsibility as the child is ready for it. Respect for others and the manners, concern, and regard that they themselves expect. Children do not come with a manual on how to raise them. But, there is such a thing as common sense. It seems that a lot of parents these days don't have it or somehow they believe that denying a child their wants and immediate demands will harm them.

The difference between a possessive (parent's) and a plural (parents), for one thing. :o) But seriously, I think parents should teach their children how to be considerate to others [including manners], to listen well, and to think before acting. They should also help them learn the difference between right and wrong, and what makes a good person. They also should be taught how to take care of themselves, and not rely solely upon others to care for them.
-
First, respect, manners is next. Decentcy honesty and loyalty. Respect for thier own bodies and others. Love and family are most important in a childs life, they should start to learn that from day one:)

Tolerance. This is a big world filled with people from all backgrounds. Every single one of them has a story to tell. If a child can grow learning that no one and nothing is better than anything else, he or she will learn compassion, empathy and the urge to protect.
-
* To be considerate of, and make efforts to befriend, the less socially fortunate * To be a good friend * Good moral values * To be a good person in general * Plain old common sense!
-

Honest and direct sex education. Kids shouldn't have to learn about Sex Ed in school as a class, or worse. Children should have the opportunity to learn such an important thing at home.

I think parents should teach their kids about drugs & alcohol. Society shoves it down our throats that it is EVIL EVIL. It's not when it is done in moderation. Parents should teach their kids that it is OK to try things, but they should know the consequences. At least that is what I will teach my kids.
-
to be humble
-
Respect and compasion.
-
Morals.
-
To be what you want others to think you are. You would also have to teach them tons about the danger of drugs and alchol to, or that might turn on you. Also this best for young children, they want everyone to think there kind trustworthy and responcible

Parents need to not only teach, but demonstrate through their own actions. I wish I learned more of a work ethic from my parents. It's a long story, but neither of my parents worked after I was 14 years old. Needless to say, I (as an immature teenager) grew up very lazy, and unmotivated.
-
What the word NO means in every sense of the word!
-
I think parents should do more than just teach. They should set a good example in what they say and do.
-
Old Fashioned Values.
-
Morals and respect their elders.
-
How to take responsibility for themselves. Too many people blame the world or others for heir problems. Some things in life are out of our hands, but those things are few and far between.
-
How to be humble, and to demonstrate it firsthand.
-
How to love one another, serve others, research, learn and think for themselves, that they can't choose what thoughts pop into their heads, but they can choose which ones to dismiss and which ones to nurture. That they can actually choose to search for happiness or nurture hatred, and wallow in sorrow. Gratitude for what they have, to look for the blessings and celebrate the successes and learn from mistakes. Oh so many things to learn and teach.
-
Teach them about God and his moral standards.
-
Personal responsibility. I think most parents don't know what that is, let alone how to teach that to their kids.

Parents should also teach their children to be fit! It is recommended to attend gymnastics classes from 3 years age! Find good sporting club for children, like this. f.e. https://krepysh.com/ and send them!
-
Savvy English parents should teach their children how to write proper English words when their teachers are not teaching them successfully. For example, use parents in the plural sense and parent’s when the word is being used to denote ownership or possession in the singular form.

Good manners and how to manage money.
-
Only the facts of life and religion. The rest should be taught by professional teachers.
-
Not to be smart-alecs. Being a wise mouth is only funny and cute in Disney channel shows. In real life, it comes off as arrogant and disrespectful and no one will like you for it. Also, to respect their elders and not speak to them like equals.
-
Responsibility. Greatly lacking in our society.

The value of ACTUAL independent thought. we've got a whole 2 generations out there that were taught that the things they're LED to believe are thoughts and they're not. In that kind of way they feel rewarded at doing stupid shit like storming the capital and threatening to kill legislators to improve the republic's democracy??? I need an italics button for stuff like that up there...

How to behave in public. Most parents don't. This is especially true in airports. I have almost injured several children.
