Years ago I worked shifts and my best friend, who was single at the time, often came to our house (I was married) on Friday evenings and he always brought flowers for my wife. I was in the fortunate position that I could go home during my meal break and do you know what... they were always just sat there chatting if I came home. I trusted them then and I trust them now, 30 years later - he is still the best friend we have and we are still married - me and my wife, not me and my best friend, just in case you were going to jump in and take the p**s.

With my best friend (other than my partner that is, as chas1908 pointed out), yes. With most close friends yes. However, not with some of my friends - especially those (specifically, the one) who have told my partner before if my partner wasn't taken they'd be with them.
