  • I don't know how to fix the color thing because the sun changed your pigment which is not going to go away. I do, however, think that putting aloe vera on will help the peeling to go away faster and even out the skin tone.
  • I feel for you cause im the same it sucks! I want to just scrub it off and want it to go back to normal i look like a chetah!
  • Use Aloe, but you can also "color' in the peeled off parts with any one of a zillion instant tan products.
  • OMG the same happened to me this past week. It looks horrible. I have been using Aloe and I just put a self tanner on. It helped a bit but not that much. I was thinking about going to a tanning booth in a couple of days.
  • Basically, a tan is your skin cells trying to rescue all the deeper cells by sacrificing themselves, throwing themselves on the UV grenade. It's pretty much not going to go away until all the dead/damaged cells are gone. I suggest peeling it where it's loose (only because I'm gross like that, you probably shouldn't) and using a self tanner where it's funky looking. Or long sleeves or something. I *don't* suggest tanning over it because it'd just make it worse.
  • The best thing to do is wait it out. Try exfoliating the area and applying moisturizer. I recommend Hold It Right There Tan Extender from Bath and Body Works. It has a combination of aloe and tea tree oil that hydrate the skin. The most important thing is DON'T TOUCH OR PICK AT IT. The skin underneath the peel is very sensitive and it's going to hurt and get infected. Then you have a couple options. You can use makeup if you're talented, you can use self tanners, or you can wait it out. Once you exfoliate and moisturize it should not look fine as long as you don't pick it. Eventually it will even out on it's own. it's frustrating, but be safe with it.
  • I purchased the Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil Gel. You apply it before you dry off your skin when getting out of the shower. It really seems to help hydrate my skin as I look like I have Leprosy after return from a week long trip to the Dominican.
  • Your skin is peeling because tanning damages the top skin cells and they have died off. The dead ones are peeling away. Flat out, if you don't want to peel, don't tan. If you want the color, use chemical tanning colors or an airbrushed tan.
  • OMG the same thing happens to me, I tan in a tanning bed, and when I stop I start to peel or get spots, I have been fine recently till I layed outside then I started to spot evereywhere on my back, chest, and not stomach. Before I always just kept tanning, to tan the lighter spots.
