i wish i knew. i was just walking home from work (i live in berkeley) thinkin about how cold it was, then it start's raining? what the hell's goin on? ...sorry, i obviously didn't answer your question.

Its the same in the UK weather here has been awful,buckets of rain causing flooding and quite chilly on odd days.

Its due to GLOBAL WARMING and for all who dont know, global warming does not mean that every place in the world will get warmer! It means the average temp in the world will go up and the polar ice caps will melt, the gulf stream will move and weather will, basically, go crazy! Here in Norway it has been like a rain forest for the past 2 months! Its normally very warm, 30C+ from june through august, but now its low 20's at best and RAINING every day!

where in calif do you live?? el nina' has alot to do with the climate out there...I lived outside fresno ca,, it was cold sometimes but mostly the beach was cold this time of year...................i love CA..

Depends on what part of CA you're in! If you're living in the Mojave, I have no clue. If you live on the coast though, it has to do with the ocean, silly pants :)

We used to get cool nearly every evening in the part of CA we lived in, the central coast area, SLO. Even though the days would get to 100-118 the nights would plummet into the 50 or colder. IT was kind of handy though because each hot day we would start off cold and go up instead of just staying hot and getting hotter.
