  • In the original 1900 book edition of 'The Wizard of Oz', Dorothy Gale didn't indicate a preference in taking leave of the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Woodman. But she did have a preference in the 1939 film version. At the end of her Oz dreamland sequence, she pinpointed the Scarecrow as the one that she well might miss the most. She said that she would miss the Scarecrow the most, seeing as how she had known him the longest and that she had been through the most stuff with him.
