Dressing as they did when they were the same age, might or might not work, since fashion tends to revolve and revisit us again in one form or the other...lmao Never dressing down, maybe...insisting that everyone "DRESS" (AS IN FORMALLY) for dinner. Lean how to set the table correctly with different courses to be served and what forks and spoons to use for the different courses? A reversion to Victorian Standards? Insisting that your child LEARN the skills to be self-sufficient? Know how to cook, clean, sew, grow and put up their own foods from the garden? Give them chores to do, that come after school work, but BEFORE their time is their own to enjoy. Having practical healthy boundaries for good behaviors...Knowing WHO your child's friends ARE, where they are hanging out, and what they are doing? Spend more quality time WITH the little darlings....doing both work around the house, and fun things too. Having all of their friends over to make homemade Ice Cream using an old fashioned CRANK Ice Cream maker, after they have helped you bake cookies to go with the Ice Cream? The CHILDREN, of course, will be the ones cranking the Ice Cream as well! And cleaning up the kitchen after baking the cookies they will be gulping down. Both boys and girls do both activities, unless you want to take it all the way back to gender specific "chores." (Which I personally would NOT do...unless the girls are baking and the boys cleaning up...but really everyone should know how to do everything ideally to me.)
