i know some Germans who think that way, but most i know are very humble & know they aren't superior in anything but car manufacturing.

uh no. Not all of us. Perhaps some of the ones who live in Germany and some who deny the Holocaust even existed.

Hitler was not a nice guy. The Germans are a good, hard working, and industrious people. Master race? NO! But there are still some who subscribe to Hitler's code.

No, I do not. The majority of German people were kind, sincere and bright but were the unfortunate pawns in a larger game in that era. They are a wonderful people. Creeps are everywhere. The Chinese believed they were the master race with Mao Tse Tung at the helm also. There are a lot of psychos right here in the USA who think that the white race is supreme. They make me puke and ashamed to have the same skin color as them.

That is a leading question, like "When did you stop beating your wife?". I don't believe the Germans ever believed they were the Master Race. A relatively small number of nutters did, and unfortunately those nutters became the government. Those nutters are now dead, and their replacement are rightly reviled as a sad lot of misfits fond of the sound of their own voices.

If you understand the language then being in Germany feels very similar to being in the U.K. The young people I know are very open minded and friendly.

I worship the Germans, they're my master race

Well, they still commandeer all the beach chairs at every pool and beach resort they're staying at by 5 minutes past sunrise. The rush down, lay their towels on "their" chair, and then don't return for hours. (British comedians didn't make it up. They really do do it. EVERYWHERE.) That being said ... The younger generation don't seem to exhibit "master-race" ideas themselves. Far from it, in fact. But most of those over 40 I've met almost invariably think they, there culture, and their ways are superior to the rest of the world, especially compared to cultures and peoples outside of northern Europe. They may not say it. They may not even think they believe it. They may even passionately denounce and condemn the belief. But they're actions, attitudes, and treatment of others tell a different story. I've worked with several Germans in our school: every single one just presumes their ways are best and are insulted/offended - even huffy - when you don't do it their way; they subsequently become rude, insulting, and even a tad paranoid and/or conspiritorial. They also invariable treat the Thais, Philippinos, Chinese, and all darker complected colleagues (and even their Thai administrative superiors) like the hired help to be ordered about, and chastise them like intellectually challenged children when they don't heel at the commands of their "obvious" betters. Also, this attitude/belief was not the invention of the Nazis: Germanism and their master-race chauvinism goes back even before the 1860s and Haeckel's "Scientific" Racism. Non-Germans have been commenting on it and joking about it for 200 years.

Not any more,as the Germans I know are ashamed that their fathers and grandfathers supported Hitler.I think that is was around 1970 that German schools started to teach about the Nazi era.One German from Hanau told me that even books about it were very hard to find.

Both my grandfathers and my mother and father did too.Its very easy to say why didnt they rebell against the Nazi's the reason is that they lived in fear of being reported to the Gestapo for being anti Nazi.People did not trust their neighbours as some would report you to the authorities. The Nazi party controlled the armed forces,the police,the secret police (Gestapo).All freedom of speech was surpressed and those who did speak out were tried by kangaroo courts and sent to work camps or were executed.Over 300,000 German soldiers were shot by their own side for such trivial things as selfishness in not sharing food.Can you imagine that in the British or US army? Why do you think Chinese communism has never been toppled by the people.The reason is that the military and police are controlled by the government.People do protest,but are brutally beaten down and thats what it was like in Germany from 1933-1945.We live in a democracy in the UK.Germany was a totalitarian state and everything was controlled by the Nazi party.

I do not believe that the Germans in general feel superior. However, there is a movement (very small I think) in Germany and Austria by young people who feel they are the master race. I haven't heard anything about that in a long time.

I don't believe Germans in general ever believed they were the master race, Just A Maniac named Adolf Hitler and his mis-guided followers.

It wasnt the Germans that thought they were the perfect race was it, it was the Jews that thought they were Gods perfect race and thats why they have been hated for so long and it was Hitler and the Natzis that believed the perfect race had blonde hair and blue eyes
