Yeah, people always pick it up and look at it to check it in the store.

Fresh fruits and vegetables both. I don't scrub or anything, but wash --- definitely!

If eating it includes the peel/rind like apple or pear. Usually not if it's something like an orange or kiwi fruit.
-
Yes, my mom always told me that they put wax on apples to make them shiny. I don't know if it's true, but it doesn't hurt to wash them anyway.
-
When I didn't, I got sick as a dog. I wash fruit all the time now.
-
yes because most fruit has pesticides which can be fatal if consumed. so always wash your fruit (:
-
I always wash all fruits and vegetables. However, I wash the veggies, trim them and cover them in paper towels and place them in the fridge crisper drawers so they are all ready to use when I 'm ready for them. Fruit, on the other hand, is never washed until we're ready to eat it. Apples and oranges are never refrigerated. The only vegetable I don't wash and refrigerate are tomatoes..they stay in our veggie basket and we wash as we use. We keep potatoes, onions, yams and jicama in the veggie baskets as well. I guess I answered more than you needed! :)

Yes..unless I eat it when I'm out :D

Yes, I do. I also wash vegetables that I purchase. Just think of how many hands have touched it before you bought it.

Sometimes. I at least wipe it off.

Yes, I wash the fruit, unless I'm not eating the skin (e.g., bananas, oranges).

Absolutely.

My mother always washed our fruit before allowing us to eat it - even bananas. I am not so good. Sometimes it doesn't even make it home from the store before being eaten. When I think about how many people have handled it and the pesticides that may be on it, I intend to wash it, but the only thing that consistently get washed are grapes and potatoes.
-
Yes.
-
Yes! The pesticides on them are too carcinogenic NOT to!
-
Ya, I always wash them They come through all situation, in trucks, lorries, baskets, through dust and snow and wind and all stuff, handled by different people under different circumstances, or even cultivated in a different environment, in the first place and some times chemicals used to make the ripe earlier, smoked and all sort of experiments being done on them. So I wash them very well as much that it makes me sure its good, at least to my eyes.
