  • for thier qualities.:)
  • I like my friends more for the qualities. We all have very different as well as simalar interests. It is a mix match that way. Some of us do certain things together, others do other things. It keeps us interesting.
  • Qualities.
  • My friends don't share all my interests I like them for their qualities! : )
  • I just accept everyone for who they are. Should I even bother calling anyone a friend anymore? Can't we just talk and hang out?
  • For a number of years now, I have done my best to be open to friendship with anyone who feels as though they would like to know me. It's been a real experience! My longterm friends seem to almost all be one of two sorts: those who have a heart of compassion for others, and those who have been recepients of that compassion. The one thing I try to assiduously avoid now is exclusivity ... looking only for friends who are like me. It works for me. : )
  • Both of course. If someone is into voodoo/witchcraft...torture...racist (KKK) associations..then I don't care what his/her qualities are, no sale no way no how. Conversely, someone can be good to family/friends/animals and be arrogant, critical, bitter, judgmental and pompous. So, both matter equally. :)
  • More so for the qualities, but it is also for their interest, we tend to do the same type of activities.
  • I'm most grateful to my friends for their qualities, particularly their values. I'm amazed at their gifts and love hearing about the things they are most passionate about. Their interests are often a reflection of their values and passions, so we enjoy sharing those developments when we get together.
  • Even if we have the same interests, if I dislike their qualities, there is no friendship, so qualities wins for me. Although having mutual interests is helpful in a friendship. But every person I've met I find we share at least one interest - e.g. if we do not share the same love of music, we may both be interested in, say, philosophy.
  • More for their qualities. Many of my friends have different interests than I do but we are still good friends, because they are good people.
  • Years ago I owned a small business and hired this woman who had the same work ethics as I did, she was perfect for the job. We became good friends and counted my lucky stars she worked for me. Until I found out that she didn't have any compassion....zero compassion .... toward special needs kids. So we kept it a working relationship until she moved away. We got together because of our interests but I would rather have friends whose qualities I can identify with.
  • Qualities of course!!!
  • Both, I respect their qualities more (and their values) than what their interests are. Personally most of my friends has nothing in common with me. :)
  • Honestly for both, some for qualities, some for interests, but my best friends, just because i love them.
  • Definitely for their qualities. I mean, I happen to have similar interests with some, but what joins us are similar qualities.
  • Qualities. We already share alot of interests, because we grew up together. I love their qualities :) Good question :)
  • I have to go with qualities as well. To me, their interests are just one of their many qualities. :)
  • Their qualities for sure
  • their qualities...and with their qualities they have interests...they seem to go hand in hand
  • friends are people who being together is mutualy beneficial. if being together is neutral they are an aquaintance, if they are detrimental they are someone I know but avoid.
  • I like them for both.
  • Qualities, thank you.
  • I appreciate and respect good qualities in people and they are something i will always look for and value in everyone i meet ~ whether they be friends or strangers :)
  • a bit of both:)
  • A bit of both. MOst of my friends are writers...exceptional ones at that. I enjoy their company, though, more than anything. Writing can be lonely...it's nice to get together with a bunch of girls who know what it's like when you can't figure out a character's core...etc.
  • Qualities and interest usually go together. Eg, if you have a friend who is interested in using drugs, would you think that person is of good qualities? So, both their qualities and interests must be decent in order to be my friend.
  • It has to be a good blend of both.
  • Yes..I do admire their qualities!
