Charter schools are generally free from the rules as laid out by the school district. They get to set their own rules and that may be an advantage, or negative depending on your "Board" at the school. I would recommend running for a position on the board as you can help mold the future of the school. I did it once and it was kind of a kick.

There aren't many cons to getting your kid out of the failed public school system by any means necessary.

Pro- It is an alternative to the public schools, less rules, if they produce the results necessary. Con- There is only 2000 positions available nationwide, so only a very few people will ever get to go to them.
