To what degree can you curse on AB and not be warned or kicked off for it? Just curious!

Any cursing is frowned upon by "the man" but the odd word here and there will not hurt. If you are reported for a serious offence then it is possible you will be placed in the PB and if you do often then you will be banned.

Just using a swear word in description here and there may not get you into trouble, though it may get removed if there are complaints about it or if it's just too much. If you use it too much, they will be removed and you may get a warning. If you 'aim' them at someone, that's an attack, you may get a warning, you may end up in the penalty box, depending on the severity. If you do it often enough and bad enough, it will get you longer and longer fines until you may be blocked from using the site. If you want to use those kinds of words you can go to AB4Adults and it's much more lenient there though still no attacks on other users are allowed.

I think it's not about the degree. I've seen many people cursing and swearing here. What matters is the pattern of abuse on the part of the user. If they've been sent to the Penalty Box before (account suspended for a period of time) and they kept making the same violations, most likely that user would be "banned" (placed in the Penalty Box for 9,999 days). I don't see the point of cursing anyway. To vent? AB is not the place for that. Below every question there's a "Help someone" sign. If people just wanted to vent, they ought to find other places on the Internet.

It's tolerated in general, and if kept to a minimum, and NOT used in questions. Nor can it be used to describe other ABers. OMG and MAYBE freaking is acceptable on questions, but most of the questions I've seen with curse words (even with letters dashed out) get tossed as offensive. Answers and comments are more... free... but even then, you need to be careful with the words you use, what they are used for, and how MUCH you use them. Again, calling another user names is not allowed, and cussing them out is frowned upon.
