Do you encourage children to believe in the fey?

Hmmm, well I do and I don't...... I like to tell fairy stories, because I enjoyed them so much when I was a child. I loved to daydream about fairies and such, and i want to foster the same sort of imagination in other kids. On the other hand, as an adult, I have no personal belief in fairies, so I don't want to lie to children either. I think this can be hurtful and damaging, even if it's just a 'nice little lie', like Santa, etc. I think I prefer to sit firmly on the fence and let kids decide for themselves. It's more mysterious and fun that way anyhow!
