It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with how well she'll be able to do the job of Vice President of the United States. It's a complete non-issue for everyone except a left-wing extremist.
-
This is what people do, they dig dirt. You will find out how many traffic tickets everyone in her family had and how many overdue books they had from the library. People that live in glass houses should not throw stones.
-
This is called Character assassination, degrading someone for something completely irrelevant. Its what politicians do all the time. And every time one politician uses this strategy, they lose points from me.
-
Absolutely nothing, of course. I can't believe anybody standing for political office has a cupboard devoid of skeletons, especially if you include their immediate family, but if such a person did exist, they would clearly have led such a sheltered life as to have no practical knowledge that would suit them to be in office anyway.
-
Same reason that it was an issue that Bill Clinton experimented with weed and he still won the election. It's Politics!!! Welcome to the 2008 presidential election!!!
-
It's just more political gainsay cr*p used as propaganda for people to push their own political party line beliefs to the forefront. Happens on all sides. In otherwords, it's all about getting the people they want into positions of power. Always has been, always will be.
-
They really are digging the depths. Next there will be Beauty Pageant photos showing she had cellulite in her youth.
-
It has nothing to do with it at all. People who continue to do that seem very desperate as if their party can't win without these tactics.
-
Yeah, well, to get drunk he must have swallowed, while Bill Clinton didn't inhale. He didn't swallow either, while Monica Lewinsky must not have been very good at it or her blue dress wouldn't have needed to be clean.
-
They'll dig as deep as they have to. Maybe someone should tell them we just don't care yo...
-
this is the first time I heard of it. and no half thinking person would use this against her when she has so much going against her already.

George W. Bush was arrested for DUI, so I would say it is not a factor in her getting elected, it's her husband, no her. Plus John McCain's wife Cindy is admitted drug abuser in her past. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cindy_Hensley_McCain Prescription drug addiction In 1989, Cindy McCain became addicted to Percocet and Vicodin, opioid painkillers, which she initially took to alleviate pain following two spinal surgeries for ruptured discs, and to ease emotional stress during the Keating Five affair. The addiction progressed to where she was taking upwards of twenty pills a day.

The same thing Bill's actions had to do with Hillary running for the presidency. A presidential candidate (or a VP) married to an idiot makes the candidate look like an idiot.
-
If he fulfilled his legal obligations and has never been arrested again -- it should have no bearing on her candidacy.
-
Ahh, yes, mudslinging! They do anything they can to soil the others name! No, it should have nothing to do with it. Hopefully, there are enough smart ones out there to realize that it's no big deal. Whoopty Doo!
-
Not at all! This is exactly why I hate politics. Why would that even be mentioned. Give me a break! It was in 1986. They are just grabbing at strings trying to make her look bad. It just shows how desperate they are!
-
None. It has about as much relevance as her religion, her ability to hunt, her experience as a hockey mom, and all the other irrelevant factors that she and her Republican friends keep talking about.

I agree that Sarahs husbands DUI has little to do with her ability to ruin the office of the vice president of the United States. The fact of the matter is that politicians will pull up anything they can to sling mud. I remember Bill Clinton being accused of having state troopers throw 2 college kids under a train because they had discovered a drug smuggling ring that he was running. At least Sarah's hubby actually did get a DUI. Is it fair? No. Is it politics as usual? Yes. As for them digging up dirt, what did you expect? The McCain camp has kept her away from reporters, so what are they supposed to do? Not ask questions? Is it integral to her ability to do the job? No, but what do you expect from modern politics.
-
No, it has nothing to do with her ability. It's just Republicans are grasping at straws.
