You don't hide your feelings. And by the way, there's nothing wrong with that! Sometimes people say it like it's a criticism. What's wrong with letting people know how you feel? I'd personally rather "wear my feelings on my sleeve" that be fake!

In medieval times, during battle or tournament, a knight would wear a token of his chosen lady, a scarf or other garment, attached to his arm as a symbol of his love for her. It has become integrated into modern language as opening your heart to somebody, usu. too frequently or easily I believe.
