Help answer this question below.
Yes of course.
Hello, its a good idea to have a router as your, hardware firewall first, then the Windows one as extra protection for (doesn't hurt).
Remember the,"pings" that hackers used are not returned with a router.
The Windows one does block incoming, but not outgoing traffic.
Zone Alarm use to be good (I may revisit it again) until they became CheckPoint. Hopefully the bugs are gone and there is still a free version.
Windows Firewall (Windows Vista and Windows XP Service Pack 2 only)
If you use Windows Vista or Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), you have a firewall built in and turned on by default.
To learn more about the Windows Firewall that comes with Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2, read Understanding Windows Firewall.
Tip: If you haven't downloaded Service Pack 2, visit Microsoft Update to learn how to get it.
If you are using Windows XP and you choose not to download Service Pack 2, you still have access to the Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) that's built into Windows XP, but you need to turn it on.
Note: The Windows Firewall and the Internet Connection Firewall are not available as a stand-alone package. They are also not available for other operating systems (for example, Apple Macintosh or Linux) or for versions of Windows other than Windows Vista and Windows XP.

Yes.It's can help me protect my computer
Absolutely. You want to make sure you're using a security product that includes anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam and firewall.
Yes, Windows Firewall.
Yes, I use Zone Alarm and it's free
It is necessary to have firewall, if computer is on any network; Internet or Intranet. Just Antivirus can not protect us from all threats.
Yes :)
Of course, yes! You need it or your pc will be RIP! It is up to you.
It's a very bad idea to use a computer without one. You're just begging to get viruses and be hacked then.
nope i do not
yes i think its the windows defender, which im going to disable soon.
Nope. I have the hardware firewall on my router though.
[Checks] Oh wait I do. Who knew?
I have installed norton internet security 2007 and fully updated it. It is an antivirus and firewall on an integrated program.
For better safety I have installed sygate personal firewall, which is always open, in order to monitor all traffic and to block all connections in case of emergency.
My windows xp built-in firewall is also enabled.
yes i have firewall and use it.:-)
Certainly. Mac OS X includes a pretty good one, although I’ve upped the default settings a bit.
I use a hardware firewall.
yes- McAfee...
Yes, I do.
My wireless router and the firewall that comes with Windows XP. Both of them are firewalls.
Yes I do. My ISP provides a Security Suite with their package.
Yeah. I think you kind of have to.
MY cp say's I do.. What ever that is.
not anymore... people always got in when I had them so now I say screw it... and sit and wait forever.
Yes of course.
It can help you to viruses and Trojan protection.
Yes. I have Kaspersky Internet Security, which has its own Firewall, so i am fully protected. Windows Firewall is ok, but only monitors whats coming in not out, so right now if you are using Windows Firewall some of your personal information could be going out and you wouldn't know a thing.
I hope this answers your question, but if you need a bit more information you can email me.
