yes. a good beating.

Parents need to teach them respect and manners at an early age. It also needs more discipline in schools.
-
Yeah, there're all these child labor laws an things now. The government is making our kids soft and aragant.
-
I think there needs to be more discipline at home and the schools need to be allowed to discipline again. As long as the kids are the adults, nothing will change.

The kids have so many advocates against even the slightest infraction against them, they know it, they tell you. Touch me and Im calling CPS. Kids are latchkeys now and parents just can't do it all. Some kids in the 70's and most in the 60's had a stay at home mom...Not today. I still think respect for others begins at home. Somehow, parents have to learn to fit it all in I guess!

In the 60's and 70's there weren't any "time outs" there were dads coming home from work and 'regulating' his children if it needed to be done. Since these kids started threatening parents to call "Protective services" all hell has broke lose. Parents are afraid to spank their kids these days. Since too many parents have taken discipline too far they have ruined it for the true disciplining parents who actually discipline to gain better acting kids and not just because they are at their wits end. It's not beating kids that helps repair them.. it's loving them enough to discipline them so that they don't ruin their owns lives in the future.

May I see your evidence that this is the case? Or is it merely a personal observation of the people around you? I haven't found the children of today any more or less disrespectful than in the 60's or 70's, perhaps just a little more out spoken and I see nothing wrong with that.

Thank you all for your opinions, I just remember haveing alot more respect for my parents then kids now a days have and I never dared talk back or threatened to kill them the way you hear so many kids do these days. Every day its something new and yes they know we cant do any thing to them any more....
