  • Synthetic motor oil is man made. a marvel of the laboratory. conventional motor oil comes from the earth, with additives for corrosion protective, viscosity and foam protection. I have used only Castrol 5-10 weight, in my camry. i bought the car new. i change the oil every 7,000 miles, as recommended in the cars manual. There are many motor oils on the market. some are good and some are not. never use refined motor oil. its old recycled oil that additives have been added. If you have a 4-cylinder, high reving engine, Castrol is the only way to go. it costs a little more, but you will save money in the long haul on engine repairs. Be sure to use the correct motor oil weight, as described in your cars manual. and, never change brands of motor oil. if you start with Castrol.....stay with Castrol. the differences in one brand to another, will cause your engine to burn excessive oil. And, remember, motor oil is the lifeblood of your engine. change the oil regularly and check the oil dip stick often. if its registering low, then add enough oil to the proper full mark.
