  • i avoid loaded questions or questions i don't have a relevant answer to or one of those "i know what i think but i'll ask anyway to see your response and argue with you if i disagree with you" questions or questions that i don't understand in the first place
  • If the question is composed in texting hieroglyphics, or is spelled so poorly that it is difficult to comprehend, then I find it not worth answering
  • ALL CAPS
  • subject matter, usually. I like to answer serious questions, but I do not always enjoy the postmortem commentary associated with it.
  • 1) If I don't know the answer - that's a novel idea for some people:D 2) If I know the answer, but am uninspired, aka lazy, to write something decent 3) If a bunch of people have already answered the question 4) If I dislike the questioner, I leave his or her questions and answers alone. I doubt they miss my input, LOL.
  • Whether I have an answer for it is probably the primary factor that determines whether I answer it or not. Also, if the answer I was planning to give is already there (unless it's a which do you prefer type question), I probably won't answer it. Other times, the topic of the question may be a little too personal for me to disclose that much information. The person asking the question can also determine whether I answer the question. Not so much as in whether I know the person or not, but more along the lines of how my interaction with them has gone in the past. Sometimes, it's whether I have run out of points for the person. I know that's not that important (or so people say), but I feel bad if I answer their question and I can't give them points for it. Obviously, if I answered it, I must have thought it was worth my time (and points).
  • If my answer would be a lot of the others already posted so then I+ points patrol;)!!
  • Besides some of the reasons already provide by fellow ABers. Since there's up to 8 of us using the same account, we keep by our PC a list of our friends & a list of people not to interact with as of prior experiences.
  • The fact that it was asked by someone who wouldn't care whether I answered or not. And of course, I'm discouraged to answer if I knew that I couldn't give a respectable answer to that question. Many Autos questions come to mind.
  • 1)Too controversial. 2)Not interesting 3)I think that maybe the questioner doesn't want my input. 4)Someone has already answered what I think 5)The questioner has previously been rude or offense to me or someone else 6)The questioner is baiting in order to cause an argument.
  • 1. It's a subject I know nothing about 2. If the person types in ALL CAPS or in "text speak" like "wut r u doin 2mro?" 3. Someone who is obviously begging for points 4. Someone who is asking a loaded question (about religion, LGBT, politics) that you know anyone who opposes them will get verbally attacked and DRd.
  • If I don't know the answer. >.<
  • 1. If it's too controversial...there are some I've "answered" and looked at my reply and just deleted it so as to avoid causing sh*t. Sometimes that's difficult for me though just writing it can be therapeutic. 2. I really don't have an answer. I made the mistake of making a joke when I first got here and I won't do THAT again. (In case you're curious: http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/3412726) Hey, I'm back on the positive side with that one...cool. 3. If the previous ones I've answered for a particular person didn't acknowledge receipt or constantly DRs me. Why waste my time. 4. If it's just plain dumb.
  • Either if there are thousands, or even just hundreds already. Or if I don't know what I'm talking about. Don't see the point in waisting anyone's time.
  • Some questions are thinly veiled rants, I skip those; I don't answer anything my DIL might see and think I am talking about her; I rarely answer questions that are just plain silly, unless I'm feeling silly too.
  • When i dont know the answer LOL.:-)+
  • Sometimes I am just not interested in the subject or know nothing about it other times I think people are not interested in other opinions rather picking a fight.
  • Lack of knowledge of the topic Questions with a specific "right" answer Questions that have been asked multiple times before Questions about which I have no opinion whatsoever Questions that are meritless, asked just for points
  • Meh, I just kind of click on whatever and answer it. AB is a place to let my mind wander.
  • If it is vulgar or just trying to stir up trouble.
  • When I have no idea what's being asked (nonsense) or if the question is leading (loaded) or if the question's in a certain category, like cars or finance.
