  • Neither -- cut one of the branches about 2/3 of the way through. Then surround the cut with a handful of damp moss or mulch and tape it in to place. Allow the dressing to remain on the cut for three to six weeks, keeping it damp the entire time. At the end of that time the cut branch will have sent out small roots in to the moss. Finish cutting the branch the remaining 1/3 and use that branch to start a new rubber tree.
