I just suggested to someone on here last night that he consider volunteering with hospice to help with low self-esteem. They are always in need of volunteers to help with basic chores for families caring for a dying family member. They need people to go in and clean house, clean bathrooms, anything you normally do for yourself that you can't do when you are bedridden. If you have money to help, that is a great way to help too. If you don't, giving you time is a great way to help. My mother had hospice care for her final six months. They were fantastic. In our state, Hospice also has a program for terminally and chronically ill children. So my daughter had all her home health care through hospice while she was having chemotherapy. I don't know how we would have cared for both of them at the same time without their help.
