Sure, for I can think of a certain son of a carpenter who solved the world's problem with at least 2 nails, if not 3.
-
if he is a man of one hat then yes! any problem he can solve is related to carpentry, which sometimes requires a tape measure and a skill saw... depending on his position as a carpenter his only answer may be the recipient of his hammer!
-
No way. A good carpenter would know better.
-
Hmmm....I think not. Nary a carpenter can work without a level and miter box.
-
It use to be that way. Today, its changed. Now, carpenters adage is: "To a carpenter, every problem can be solved with Gorilla Glue and Duct Tape."
-
I had not heard that before. Interesting. I guess meaning we can only come up with solutions within our own scope of expertise?
-
Nah. If he were a really GOOD carpenter, the problem could be solved with a dove-tail joint.

My older brother Gerry does, but he's not a carpenter. If Gerry's feeling down, he talks about going out and "nailing chicks" (his phrasing, not mine). He says this always lifts his spirits. Sounds like a quick fix to me.
