OK - I did a search on "Moammar Gaddafi" +Obama and found many links to the remarks made by Gaddafi. In fact rather than welcoming Obama as a brother he was attacking him in no uncertain terms. Being attacked by Gaddafi is not a bad thing in itself; indeed it can be regarded as a badge of honour. Here is just one of the stories:- "Damn! Barack Obama just can't catch a break these days. First, the Palestinian radical Muslin group Hamas withdrew their support for his presidential campaign, and now Muammar Gaddafi -- Libya's "Leader and Guide of the Revolution" and long time friend of America -- is talking more shit on him than Joe Lieberman... Libya's leader has strongly criticised US presidential candidate Barack Obama for saying Jerusalem should remain the undivided capital of Israel. Col Muammar Gaddafi said he was either ignorant of the Middle East conflict or lying to boost his campaign... Referring to him as "our Kenyan brother", Col Gaddafi also said Mr Obama might suffer from an inferiority complex because of his African origins." How anybody can interpret this as evidence of being a Muslim is mind-boggling.

How you managed to infer that is beyond me. Muslims, in fact, do not reserve the term "brother" for referring to fellow Muslims. You made that up, and I don't even know why you would. In the article you're talking about, Gaddafi calls Obama - and I quote - "more white than white people." To your credit, though, you didn't assume that Obama was actually a blood-relative of Gaddafi.

If you think Quadafi is an observant Muslim, think again. he is a devious politician who claims friendships, and sometimes "brotherhoods" wherever he thinks they will benefit him. *If* ha said what you claim, it is because he is trying to oil in with the next President of the US.
