According to Arthur Dent, the answer is forty-two, but I believe that applies to a different question: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view.php/76396 EDIT (Nov 14)--------------------------------------------------- I, however, think that there are probably about a hundred that we must walk down. Life changes, and with that change, a new road is created.

I have come to the recent conclusion, that due to the influx of treadmills, a man need never walk down a road. I am proof of that. I drive to the gym every day and walk on a treadmill. Roads are for driving.
-
lots and lots. he will keep walking until he finds what he is looking for.

That is a very interesting question. Personally I walk down pavements, but I do cross roads. What if the man has no legs, and we must walk at least ten roads in our life time? Will he go to hell, and if so, how will he walk the road to hell? Also if we walk down them all, will we end up in the centre of the earth? Did you know that "ROADS MUST" is an anagram of "R U SAD TOM". Do you think that Tom is the man with no legs?

He must walk down as many as he can if he wants to eventually find the truth.
-
As many as it takes to get to his final destination.
-
It depends on how stubborn the man is, and how much pain he wants to suffer. A person can choose one route, and be on track or take many avenues and get in a lot of trouble.
-
As many as the white dove sails before she sleeps in the sand.
-
One. Because thats all it takes to fall in love, get your heart broken, get a job, make a friend and ...get hit by a car! =)
-
Dunno but its long and winding (where's my stick)

The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Yes, 'n how many seas must a white dove sail before she sleeps in the sand? Yes, 'n how many times must the cannon balls fly before they're forever banned? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind, the answer is blowin' in the wind.

neverending. once you find the road you want to walk down, things change, life changes, and suddenly the road you are on, doesn't fit anymore.
