Television Hiatuses - love 'em or leave 'em? Seems more shows are having a winter hiatus rather than showing reruns throughout the season. What are your thoughts on this?

Right now I am only watching 8 hours max per week becasue there is nothing on really. Friday night is my big night for TV and that's pretty much it right now.
